Default encouragement for Dana here!

Dana,

I know you've been having a hard time staying op lately, so we're all going to be here to help!

I remember how hard it was when I went back to work full time a year ago. Give yourself some time to adjust.

In the meantime, maybe try just one positive change.

One thing that helped me was packing lunch and snacks for work. If you avoid the cafeteria and vending machines, you can save at least 300-700 calories a day!

Once every week and a half, I get lunch in the cafeteria-a turkey sandwich with mustard, lettuce , tomato and ONE slice of cheese, and a very small amount of chips. Every other day I bring from home.

Please stay here with us and keep trying. We're here for you.

Hugs,
Sherry

Hey, Dana! You can do it! I agree with what Sherry said, just try to make one positive change . . . drink your water, exercise, watch portions, whatever. If you can change one thing and feel a little more in control, it will often motivate you to keep making positive changes.

Good Luck!

I totally agree Dana ~ working full time in addition to trying to lose weight plus everything else in life is a LOT to have on one's plate!

You'll do it ~ you are doing it ~ just give it time, be kind to yourself, and hang in there while you adjust to this major life change.

And if one day doesn't go well with the program, brush yourself off and go again the next. Remember, like Sting so wonderfully tells us, "It's the start of a Brand New Day"! ! !

*hugs*

I agree with all the good advice - pack your lunch! (I made mine the night before and put a sticky note on the front door saying "Don't forget your lunch!)

No one knows better than me that summer in WI means brats & beer, but we can both be strong!! Take Sara to Bay Beach & run around all day. I don't suppose the rides are 15 cents anymore, but it's still a good workout going from ride to ride.

Remember we are all here for you!!!

You CAN do this, Dana! I think baby steps, planning, and taking time for yourself are the keys when you're working full-time.

Did I see that you had a birthday not too long ago? If so and I'm not hallucinating, happy belated birthday!!

Dana, you were such an inspiration to me when I first came to this thread, I hope you can regain that enthusiasm. I think the idea to give yourself time to adjust is a good one. It is a big step. Bringing your own food and trying first to just maintain are good ideas. And those old words "baby steps" are the only way to go until things "click" for you again.

OMG gals! I just noticed this tread.. thanks soooo much!!! It really means a lot of to me. I want to do well.. but life has been doing a 180 on me! I love my new job - I love working. (sure, laugh.. ask me again in 6 months ) But this diet thing has busted my butt!

My training is almost done... 2 more weeks. Then I am at the opposite end of the building (it's a big building - 2000 employees) Then my shift changes - which should help. I'm no good at temporary changes.

Thank you all so much really made my day!!

Love ya!

Dana
