I joined 3FC seriously on 1/1/11, have lost 60 lbs./25%, and have assembled a platoon, a group determined to give 110% every day to achieving their weight loss goal. Some of the ladies nicknamed me Sarge, so Sarge it is!

--Please join if you're serious about dropping pounds and melting your BUTT-er (that's a salute to one of our troops) and have a sense of humor!

--Please join if you want daily motivation to achieve your goal. Sarge has plenty of time to keep an eye on you!

--Please join if you want Sarge to scream in your face like Jillian Michaels on Biggest Loser because that's what you're gonna get!

--Please join if you understand the definition of challenge, "...a call to engage in a contest, fight, or competition," this is your life we're talking about!


--Don't join if you're gonna bring excuses!

--Don't join if your head isn't in it yet. We'll be here to embrace you with well-toned arms when you're ready.

--Don't join if you're overly sensitive to comments like "step away from the buffet!"

--Don't join if you want to discuss anything other than get this freaking weight off of me! Sarge is type A personality. Reading touchy-feely stuff makes Sarge's eyes bleed!

RULES: Simply make Sarge a promise each Sunday to lose a certain number of pounds the following week then DO IT! New Privates encouraged to join any Sunday!

WHO IS WITH ME?!?!?!? All are welcome (including men)...any age, any amount of weight to lose. Say "Yes, Count Me In Sarge!" Do it, you know you want to, then drop and give me 20 minutes of exercise!

RMC - I work in medical marketing and research, so I write anything that might come up - articles for patient magazines, copy for patient handouts, copy for business-to-business materials, website copy, marketing copy, etc. Recently, I was also made producer for WebTv channels owned by the company I work for, so now I also do research and storyboarding for episodes. It's interesting work, definitely not what I thought I'd be doing with my journalism degree, but I actually really like it. I usually have a good few days run where I can just sit and write, and then I get a day thrown in where I can't write a coherent sentence much less anything else. Glad to meet another writer!!!

Sarge - The topic was Botox for migraines...can we put a pornographic veggie spin on that?

Pokey-- patients with ocular migraine describe the sensation in these ways: "I want to take a spoon and pull my eye out" or "My eye is popping out" or "Someone is pushing a finger in my eye." How about Botox...better than poking a zucchini in your eye!

Ok, did the 5 AM wake up . . . worked 6-2:30, came home, filled my H2O bottle and trekked 15 miles on the bike . . . it felt SOOOOOOOO GOOD!! By the way, How many calories do you count for eating BUGS???? I'm still a little congested and was breathing through my mouth and OOOOOPS . . . in pops a BUG . . . Spppt, Spppt, bleh . . . can I count it as protein ???? LOLOLOL

Dumplin: you an hang out until Sunday and then make a pledge

I can't remember who was asking about intense/short workouts, BUT 30-day shred is pretty intense AND you do the warm-up, workout & the cool-down in about 25 minutes . . . There are 3 levels, each of course increasing in intensity . . . oh yea, it will MELT YOUR BUTT-er!!!

Pokey: I have no idea what to do with Botox for Migraines

OK, I can't remember much more without pulling the thread up . . . <sigh>

OK, tomorrow, 5AM wake-up call again, but done at 2:30 and then off to a SUPER SECRET MISSION AT A BUTT-ER MELTING HIDE-A-WAY . . . not sure if I'll be able to post . . . so check-in/pledge may be on Monday

Oh, I went to check on the garden today and pulled 2, yes TWO BUTT NAKED RADISHES out of the ground and I ate one of them for supper

I always thought when a thread hit 500, it automatically locked, preventing additional posts. Who knew there was actually someone watching? Kind of creepy, but ok.

MadamButterfly, thanks for the 30DS reminder. [whisper] I sold my 30DS dvd during the same tag sale at which I sold my bike. [/whisper]

pokeycactus - sounds like interesting stuff. I think Sarge missed her calling - love the new tag!

ETA: Just took a peek and found 30DS is offered free On Demand this month, along with some other JM workouts. I'll order another 30DS DVD, but at least I can get started.

rmc9142 - In response to your question about exercise that gets results... I found walking and hiking to help with weight loss (as expected), but when I started trail running, it really slimmed my hips! My hips were stubbornly holding on to their girth and I thought I would never reduce their size! It must be all the hills...
