Need help NOW!
I'm having a really bad day. And I REALLY want a diet coke. really really really. I'm carrying all the stress in my neck and shoulders and usually a coke and some excedrine helps. I want one. Will it make a huge difference? I haven't had one in two weeks since I started OP. I don't want to ruin my progress. I'm perfectly OP so far.

I have one every other week or so. Had one yesterday at the casino...
It doesn't kick you out of ketosis..it's mainly an acid thing...so every once in awhile....

I know this is bad but I drink diet soda daily and it hasn't affected me and has kept me sane....it is an acid thing not a kicking you out of ketosis thing

If you give in now, it will be easier to give in the next time. Try to distract yourself and it will pass. I find that Perrier Water helped me to get past what you are experiencing. I was an avid Diet Coke drinker - at one point in my life I drank 2 litres a day and now, I may have one once a month. It is tough in the beginning, but worth it.
The fact that you are able to recognize this craving and voice on this post is a HUGE victory in my books.

Oh I am so sorry you are having such a bad day...truly I don't think one soda is going to hurt you in the least, there are worse thing you could like rade the fridge or something. Do what you have to do to help get you through this dificult time and also keep you on track. I do hope it gets better very soon for you.

Thank you everyone! I haven't given in yet. But I bought one (I'm at work... went to the vending machine and got a Coke Zero). It didn't feel very cold so I put it in the freezer. Now the question... will I grab it for the drive home? Will I forget and leave it to explode in the freezer? Or will I take it out and put it on the counter with a note giving it away? I leave in 10 minutes... I bet you're all on the edge of your seats!

Good luck to you, I stood in Walmart today looking at lime coke going ohhh how I miss it, well I walked away. I am going to get cola and lime syrup and have a fake coke one of these days.
Hope you took it out of the freezer, it is so messy when it explodes.

If you're going to do it, you might as well get the diet coke sweetened with splenda. Yes they do have it. Like others said it won't kick you out of ketosis but at least you'll be using splenda versus aspartane..

Have the Diet Coke. It *might* have an impact, but, if you need it that badly, it's a lot better than some of the other things you can turn to.
Diet Coke is one of my comfort foods, too. <3

I've heard there are more options in the US, but until recently I hadn't seen any here. HOWEVER, I recently found orange crush, cream soda, & shweppes ginger ale sweetened with splenda at Safeway. I'm not much of a pop drinker, but it's nice to have one once in a while.

I'm not much of a pop drinker either, but it is nice to eliminate aspartame from the diet as much as possible. I will have to get some gingerale for sure as that is the only one I do like. I did find that Lipton Ice Tea is made with sucralose as well

Well I drank it. And enjoyed it. I would normally get a soda with splenda, but the vending machine at work didn't have that option. I have cut aspartame 100% in the past two weeks, so hopefully the one drink won't impact stuff too much. I have had no other cheats. I weigh in on Wednesday and really want to lose at least 1.2 so I can give myself my first reward!

The Safeway brand of diet cola in the BLUE box (not the red box) is sweetened with sucralose.
