Thanks, Maddiesmom!

Stuck to plan yesterday and will do it again today!! Anyone with me for miles? I'm planning on running 3. Planning on some retail therapy later today after working out - I think my mom and I are going to cruise some discount stores. What's everyone else up to?

ETA - Just caught up on the last posts on the other thread.

burgundy - love the idea of you shopping for galoshes! Maybe you can find rubber boots in a fun color? Sorry about your laptop - I always use my work laptop for stuff but I think it's finally time to replace my home desktop that is 10 yrs old (!!). I just know you're going to see 186 soon!

maddiesmom - Thanks for the pep talk! I'm trying to focus on remembering what it felt like when I was sticking to plan, working out all the time and losing like crazy and how happy that made me. Pity party eating is just a downward spiral and one I need to stay away from. Keep up the good work with the paleo - I'm so impressed by your discipline.

Off to meet my sis for coffee - will check in with you girls later...

We are at the casino. Food wasnt the best yesterday but I got a great workout in last night. Got on the elliptical for about 45 minutes and my knees did ok. They were hurting some when I first started but I worked thru the pain. Gonna do better with food today and workout again when we get back to the hotel. My SIL wants to shop til she drops so that might be sometime tonight.

Dance-I found some cute galoshes, they are black and white striped with a pink flower on the side. I'll probably get on the elliptical today for 45min to an hour, dont know how many miles that would equal out to though.

Vicky-thanks for starting a new thread.

Our truck wouldnt start before we left, but its a 2004 and we have had it since 2005 with no major issues until now. We are hoping its just the alternator or starter and nothing unrepairable or too expensive. We are getting more snow today and tomorrow and my car is horrible in the snow so Im hoping we can get it fixed fast.

Hope everyone is doing good, I'll try to check in later.

Red face

I've been hiding in shame somehow I managed to loose another pound not sure how I've been sooooo bad! I snacked on cake most of the weekend *ugh* horrible it was so good though! I eventually came to & threw the rest out Tuesday. Other then that dinners sucked over the weekend this week I've done okay I've been skipping snacks pretty much everyday which is bad, I hate not eating enough but I've been so busy. I need to get more organized & pack lunches/snacks. I did get in 2 workouts this week wanted to workout tonight but parent/teacher conferences kept me longer then I thought. It's kinda late now so I think I'll turn in and go at it extra hard tomorrow.
-burgundy good job with the workouts!! Casinos/hotels have great gyms I love working out when we are away too my husband thinks I'm a dork haha If the elliptical counts steps 2000-2200 is a mile if that helps. Keep up the great work send some of that mojo my way
-maddiesmom OOOO Disney in September Ethan would be so jealous! It was warming up here but it snowed for the first 3 days of Spring burrrrr now we have freezing rain It's supposed to be getting warmer saturday & next week so we'll see.
-dancer you out of the blahs for good? I was struggling but after seeing some pics from Ethans party I'm so back on track I'm shooting for 5-6miles this weekend kinda high but we'll see I'm nothing if not determined..in spurts at least

marmalade - holy cow - how do you lose actual pounds when you're being bad? You my dear are my hero! Did the b-day pics motivate you because you could see the difference with your old self? What a great thing - congrats! Out of the blahs over here finally - sorry to be so dull lately!

burgundy - hope the truck repair bill isn't too bad. Shopping can be good exercise - did you get anything fun? Hope you guys are having a great time.

Just got back from a lunchtime run (I'm working from home today) and getting ready to jump on another conf call so I'll be quick. I'm ready to tackle some serious spring cleaning this weekend - goodwill, look out!

What's up with you guys this weekend?

toes - you're welcome to join us! We don't have a challenge in the traditional sense, we just support each other in reaching our goals. What kind of eating and exercise plan are you on?

Just when I thought the whole sleeping thing was getting easier, couldn't fall asleep until after 2am last night. *sigh* I've talked to a few other friends in my age range and I think it may just be something that happens in your 40s unfortunately. So you younger gals should really appreciate the whole falling asleep and staying that way thing while you can!

Have an hour and a half before my cleaning lady comes - am going to straighten until she gets here so that she can actually get to everything and then while she's here, I'm going to do a major deep dive into the spare room (aka the place I put everything that I can't find somewhere else for that was originally supposed to be the exercise room). Of course, it's so full of junk, I don't go in there to lift weights and stretch the way I thought I would.

Planning on a run later after the cleaning blitz - anyone with me for 3 miles or the equivalent? Hope you all are having a good weekend.

marmalade-you just keep losing. I want on that train with you. The elliptical didnt count steps but I was on it about 45 minutes each time. My knees got used to it pretty fast.

Dance-gonna take the truck in on Monday, have to have it towed. I got a new skirt, cant wear it right now cos its too cold and a new shirt. Dont really want to buy new clothes right now til I am down another size or two. I can never fall asleep until after 1am but then I dont wake up until like 9 or 10am. I would like to start getting up earlier though. Ive been doing spring cleaning here and there. I have the spare bedroom that is full of junk too. Gonna tackle that soonish.

Toes-welcome, join right in.

Missed 4 days with the boys with being out of town and having truck problems. My car is absolutely awful in the snow. I get stuck everywhere in it. Gonna have them Monday. Wouldve loved the paycheck from 5 days in a row.

Today was my SILs birthday so we went to dinner and had cake and ice cream. So eating wasnt on plan today(like so many days lately) I looked back and have only lost 3 lbs in the last 10 months. That is sad but I am just glad I am not really gaining. Gotta find a new plan that works for me.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Welcome toes
Did a little over 2miles saturday felt fantastic & then yesterday yucky & tired I'm blaming TOM. Feeling crappy today but I'm going to get in some elliptical after dinner.
I saw a special on the news last week about knee pain a study about strengthening your hips. They said it can prevent knee pain or lessen cronic knee pain in runners/walkers. Something about the strides being more even I didn't catch all of it. I'm only half helpful I have a 7yr old so I usually only hear half most conversations Sounded interesting so I'm going to look into it & look up some hip stuff & give it a try. Lunges & squats are killing my knees these days.
Last week was very stressful & today was not so good...people some days I swear! Going to try & keep my cool, stay level headed, and get in lots of workouts this week that should help a bit. Need to get on here more often too
Went to Costco on Sunday bought some tilapia & chicken, they didn't have individually frozen haddock or cod this time I'll be off to the store tomorrow afternoon with Ethan he's off on spring break this week I wish I was too haha I have the afternoon off so it'll be nice
How was everyones weekends & Monday going?
-Dance no the opposite *sigh* I think when I went down a size I noticed a good change, I guess I'm not seeing the loss anymore just the weight. I do see myself everyday so I'm bound to get use to how I look now. I know I look different then say the summer but it was a wake up call for sure. Going to be out of the 200's by end of April woohoo can't wait!!!! No idea how I managed to loose last week luck I think I figured I'd gain a pound or two. Sorry your not sleeping well lack of sleep can be really draining hope it's a phase that passes.

Hey girls!
Got some good cleaning done this weekend but there's still plenty more to do. Getting ready to tackle some yard projects this spring - I have a majorly blank canvas in the back yard. I have to figure out where the flower beds will be and what kind of small trees I want to add before I start going nuts on plants - I think I'm going to be busy! Anyone else have yard stuff on their list this spring?

Got in a good walk with a buddy last night and am planning on walking some stuff over to a friends' tonight so I'll get in only two miles today but that's something.

marmalade - curious to hear about the hip stuff - sounds interesting. I know it can be discouraging when it hits you all of a sudden how much left one has to lose - I've had it happen to me lots - but you have a LOT to be proud of - look how much you've lost already! And you are soooo close to onederland - we can't wait to celebrate with you when you hit that milestone!

burgundy - ooh - love skirts! I've had a hard time finding the a-line shape I like in stores lately - the bubble shaped mini type skirts are an unholy nightmare on my not so tiny hips and thighs What kind of skirt did you find? Let me just tell you that losing 3 lbs in 10 months is a heck of a lot better than what I've done - I think I'm up 9lbs since Labor Day : ( But I am going to get back down this spring so that I fit into my skinny clothes again - this is just ridiculous!

Hope you're all doing great...

Hope you all don't mind if I join you!

Dance - I am in about exactly the same boat as you. Since last fall I've gained about 7 pounds - I stopped running as much, got super busy, and just lost track of my goals, weight-wise. It's time to get back on track! I'm back to keeping track of what I eat for a bit, and committing to running and working out more. I finally realized that I had to do more than think about how I wished I wasn't gaining weight

kera - you are welcome to join! What kind of diet and exercise plan are you on?

Planning on a walk with my sister tonight after work and a run tomorrow morning. I stopped by Ross last night on the way home and found a few of the floaty a-line skirts that I like so I'm feeling like I have a few more work options while some of my skinnier pants are still snug. Not for long though, I hope. How's everyone else doing?

dance - Thanks! I mostly run, and am training for a 10-mile run, 10K, and half marathon in May. I'm starting back up with yoga, too - I always feel stronger when I do yoga regularly. As far as diet - I'm just trying to stick with fewer simple carbs and more whole fruits and veggies. I'm counting calories for now, too, and trying to stay under 1800 a day.

This week has been pretty good for me - I've been doing very well with staying around my calorie goal and limiting sugar. I finished a 6.6 mile run for training, and I finally feel like I might be able to get ready for the 10-mile run on May 1. Things have been busy and I haven't gotten to work out as much as I'd like, but I've lost about a pound in the last week, so yay!

How is everyone's week going?

Hey ladies,

Yup, I've been MIA again. Things in Chicagoland are so busy! Work has been crazy, and I've been trying to keep up with it all. Thanks to my daughter, my weekends are now full! Guess it's the only way to have a social life.

Haven't weighed myself in a couple weeks - my clothes are looser, but I know that I'm gaining muscle so the # didn't go down on the scale the last time I checked.

Working out with Jeff 3 times a week still and doing Paleo. I slip up here and there with the lf frozen yogurt and last weekend I had a blizzard from DQ. Gotta get back on track. I'm thinking I'm going to go into super strict mode again like I was last year and refuse to eat anything fattening until I'm in Onederland again. It seems that super strict is the only way I can do it. But, I know the only reason I gained was that back surgery.

Super tired from work, gymnastics classes with Madeline and workouts. Someone at work was nice enough to bring bronchitis into the office, so I'm struggling with keeping that at bay. I don't know why I'm the one who catches everything. Gotta figure that out.

Hope everyone is doing well - I will really try to catch up with everyone / personals in the next couple of days. Just wanted to let you know I was still around!

Marmalade-I need to research the hip stuff. I have bad knees so Im willing to try anything to strengthen them.

Dance-Im trying to get some spring cleaning done too. I have a trunk full of stuff to get to the thrift store. We still have snow in the yard so no outside work for me yet, but when it does warm up we are gonna build garden boxes instead of digging up the yard this year. Im gonna get some miles in tomorrow. Got couch to 5k on my ipod and hope to start that tomorrow.

Kera-welcome. Good luck training for the marathons. I want to build up to that. I have done one 5k in the past. Looking forward to doing more.

Vicky-hope you dont get to feeling too bad with bronchitis. Sounds like the diet is still going good. Your slip ups dont seem too major since you workout so much.

I got Zumba Fitness for wii and have been doing that the last few days. Its so much fun. Gonna start back walking/running. I have been slacking bad. Time to get back in the game.

We finally get our truck back tomorrow. It was the fuel injectors so nothing too expensive. My car is rear wheel drive and no good in all the mud around here.

Its late and I have to be up early tomorrow. Hope everyone is good.
