GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY
done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today:

If you are having a rough time right now, give yourself the gift of new beginnings. Give yourself permission to start fresh every day. Stop limiting your happiness to just one or two chances. The world is full of possibilities. Give yourself permission to reach out again and grab your every single day. Don't drown your dreams in hopelessness. Forgive yourself for past mistakes and begin your dream anew. Choose to see new opportunities for success and happiness everywhere you look. Make a conscious choice to greet each morning with gratitude, as a new chance at happiness.

THIS WEEKS WEEKLY CHALLENGE

We need to get back to our weekly EXERCISE CHALLENGE of getting in at least 3 days of exercise and posting it on the weekly exercise board. So many were doing so well and last week seemed to really be slacking with participants.

The WATER CHALLENGE of drinking at least 64 ounces of water a day continues. I know personally, I've NOT been a participant of this on more days than I'd like, so who will join me with posting their water intake on a daily basis?

Want a NEW CHALLENGE? Here you go! Actually, it's not a new challenge per se. Next Monday Morning when I start the new board, the weekly question will be: HOW MANY DAYS LAST WEEK WERE YOU 100% OP?"
I'd like to challenge the entire board, everyone, to strive to put 7 days, all week, as being the number one answer!

Who's up for the challenge???

We can do it girls!!!!!!

I can't believe it's ovver!

The wedding was wonderful. Everything went fine. We got to church just in time before a huge storm hit, hail and all. We didn't get to take the pictures outside like she had wanted, but all in all it was great. The storm ended just about the time the wedding was over. I did forget to bring the flower girl's dress. Luckily I got hold of my niece and she went by my house and brought it in plenty of time.

Our hair and makeup turned out wonderful. I was very pleased. I looked like I had a lot of hair. No one could believe it went up like that. The girl was a miracle worker.

You will never believe I did not shed one tear. Me the most emotional person in the entire world. That morning on the way to get my hair done, I was wondering how in the world I was going to get through the day and night. The whole time I'm crying already just thinking about it. Well my mom has been gone for 5 years now and she was the strongest person I know. Stefani takes after her too So I had a little "talk" with her and asked her to get me through this and give me her strength. Well she came through with shining colors. I felt so strong and so proud, even when they did the father/daughter dance. I couldn't believe it. Neither could any of my friends. I guess she only gave my her strength for that one day though as i have cried since then (and am teary eyed as I type this). Oh well, I got what I asked for.

The reception was fun. My only complaint was you can't spend any time with anyone. You are going from person to person and then it's over. The DJ wasn't very good. He messed up on the names of people and then when he introduced the bride and groom he used her last name instead of the groom's. He didn't play the songs we had picked out and didn't invite others to join in the father/daughter dance like we had planned. Stefani was disappointed in the flowers, but they weren't that bad. I can honestly say I have never seen her look so beautiful. The 20 lbs she had lost really complimented her.

I did realize about 11:00 last night that I had forgotten to take the cake napkins to the reception. Don't know what we will do with all those napkins now. Oh well.

I'm really sorry it is over. It was so much fun.

Back to a new week and back to routine. I had 4 days of bad eating (not at the wedding, didn't even get to eat). The scale was up 4 lbs this morning. So back on track today. Time to get serious and get to goal.

Deb I'm up for all challenges this week. I need to get back to my exercise routine. Hope it's not too hard to get going again after 2 weeks off. Hope everyone joins in.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Have a great OP day. No time to read last week's board, so if something happened important, please let me know.

Default Ahhhh, a new board!

Morning All

Dreary day here. Oh well, I have no time to be out enjoying nice weather anyway.

We're probably putting our investment place on the market this week. Just some minor things left to do (Like I have to clean the whole place ). After we finish that, all we have to do is wait for a good offer.

My eating has been horrible the past week or so, so today is a new start. Lots of water! Actually that's all I can have for the next couple of hours cause I have my physical today. I'm bringing roast beef in a WW tortilla to chow down on as soon as I'm finished

JACKK--Glad you had a wonderful time at the wedding. We want pictures!! It's too bad the DJ wasn't so hot. WOW! You didn't eat ANYTHING at the wedding??? At my wedding, I ate my dinner PLUS half of one of the bridesmaid's dinner. I wasn't nervous at all. Now you can be over the stress of the wonderful event. I know about stress before a wedding-- I didn't want to tell you before your DD's wedding in case I jinxed you, but 10 days before my wedding my mom had her gall bladder out and 2 weeks before my brother's wedding, my dad had his appendix out! Just a little bit of added stress. Good thing my folks don't have any more kids

WELCOME to all the newbies

to everyone

I gotta go get a couple of things done before I go to the doctor. Have a good OP day everyone.

Default Monday morning

Hello all.

Monday back on track day. It seems like that is all I do.....start and stop. I was thinking about this last night when I couldn't get to sleep....why can't I do this? What is it that is stopping me from succeeding? What is it that I want?

Well I want to be able to eat whatever I want whenever I want. How is that for honesty? But then I said to myself, "That is not possible. You just have to give up something that is all there is to it". Well, today I am being good so far....although I feel the hungry horrors coming on. I made a chef salad for lunch and I have a half slice of SSWW pita bread. Tonight I will have some chicken. Not sure what I will have with it yet. I didn't have time this weekend to do my menu for the week. I will do it today.

I am up for the challenge. I don't have any problem drinking my water each day. I have a 30 ounce tumbler (tupperware) that I keep at my desk and I fill twice each day. That makes 60 there and that doesn't count what I drink at home before I leave work and then at night. The exercise will be a challenge for sure. I am still absolutely exausted. I am going to give the antibiotic a couple more days and if I am not better I will go back to the docs. So exercise is the last thing I want to do. If the weather holds out this week (not promising so far) I will get my 2 mile walk in at least 3 days this week. Shouldn't be to hard.

TOM has arrived with a vengence today. I am dying of cramps. I hardly ever have that problem. I kept laying right up next to my husbands back this morning for the heat....he said "yeah, yeah...I know what you want. You are just using me for my body heat" That man can generate some serious heat. He is like a living heating pad. But, I shall survive. The thing I am worried about is my eating. When I am tired I tend to eat badly and never mind having TOM on the same day!

My install at work this morning got cancelled so at least I can breath today. Last week was horrendous and this week was going to be the same. I may have a chance this morning to go on FitDay and plug in my food for the day. I think I will be doing fine as long as I don't give in to my cravings today.

Deb: so count me in on the challenge. Maybe we can do a point system of some kind to make it more of a compitition (friendly of course) You win nothing but bragging rights but still it will keep us on track.

Jackie: I am so glad the wedding went so well. I know how calm you felt. The day of my wedding I thought I would be a basket case but instead I have never been so calm in all of my life. It was weird. You will have to send us a picture when you have one.

Well, I will chat more later.

Good Monday Morning Everyone

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Got in my 4.5 miles this morning in 52:18, not bad considering I'm pooped, it's hotter than all heck out there and I didn't sleep well, but hey, at least I started the day and week out right. Off to yoga in about an hour.

Had a nice Mother's Day. The kids, my DM and my DS went to Carraba's yesterday, I footed the bill We ran around to a few stores afterwards, nothing exciting. I have to say I was proud of myself, not overly so, but proud enough. We got a piece of tiramisu from the HFS to share (I like it better than Carrabas) and I didn't eat one bite! It was offered and boy, did I want it, but I didn't. I did have a SB LEGAL cookie though, 2 portions though, but hey, at least it wasn't the tiramisu! I ate too many carbs yesterday, that I do know, but for the most part, I stayed OP with the exception of about 8 pieces of calamari-that I couldn't resist!

Going to get in some replies before I have to leave.

BOB, you should get those 222's today. Had to give my DF some yesterday as well. Let me know when they arrive-hope they give you some relief! I can't remember, but have you gone to a chiropractor?

SHEANNE, thanks for taking the time to post that recipe, may just have to give it a try and see how I do-though, with me, it could be hopeless

AGAPE, GRIN & SUGARLESS, thanks for checking in even though you've all been busy - means a lot

TALITHA Glad you've decided to join us. CONGRATS to you and your family on the new addition and also, on celebrating your first Mother's Day! This WOE is not only healthy to follow while breastfeeding but you could of easily followed it while you were pregnant unless your Dr. said not to. This is a VERY healthy WOE that includes all the food groups and many Dr.'s even recommend this WOE to their patients. So, unless you are told by a Dr. not to, you should be good to go and continue on. You are doing very well so far, and congratulations. Not only will you have unconditional support from those of us on this board, but it seems like you've got the support of the family, having everyone doing this REALLY helps and makes a world of difference. What I want to say that's VERY important is that you have to make sure you eat enough. It's a big problem with many people who start this WOE as their appetite seems to diminish and they end up not eating enough, which can be just as bad as eating too much, BUT, with you and breastfeeding, this is moreso important to you than someone who's not breastfeeding, so do make sure you are eating enough!!! Let us know a bit more about you when you get a chance - what part of the country are you in? Again, we welcome you and any questions you may have, we're more than happy to help answer them!!!

SEF, did you win anything at Casino Magic? What do you like to play when you go? Sorry to hear you had a sleepless night, hope you can get in a nap today and that you are feeling better.

TEENSY, I bet you look MAHVELOUS with the new doo. CONGRATS on having the scale move downwards. That's awesome to be just 10lbs away from hitting the 100lb mark! You go girl! If that doesn't motivate you, what could? That is wonderful that this WOE has not only shown you that you are able to lose the weight in a healthy way, BUT, that it's helped cured you of other ailments! I can't even fathom doing yard work down here, the heat is just so bad, not to mention the mosquitos! Raspberries, oh gosh, do I love raspberries - the best of all the fruits for fiber! Sounds like you really have a wonderful garden AND a green thumb - wish I could say the same!

MONET, glad to see you checking in this morning

JACKK, so glad to hear everything but the DJ was a success at the wedding, can't WAIT to see a picture of YOU! Have to say, I'd ask for a partial refund from the DJ seeing he screwed up so many times. Maybe a case for THE PEOPLE'S COURT? Glad to hear all-in-all you had a good time and she's now a happy new bride! You didn't cry? My goodness you really did get a lot of strength, I'd surely have been hysterical. Lord, I just can't even think how I'll be when MICHAEL graduates next year! I'll be a basket case, and my DM who will be there won't help matters! Napkins, everyone uses napkins, use them, no biggie. Geez, you can't remember EVERYTHING!!! I'm sure you'll do great with the new challenges this week, I'm rooting for you, and me

ZANNE, hope your physical goes well. Reminds me that I need one, it's been a couple years Hope you get a quick and good offer on the investment property!

Okay, I'm outta here for now, will check in later today.

Have a great week!

Hello,

I know I haven't been visible for a while, dropping in and out, but I am always thinking about you all and naturally, about this WOE.

I have started walking my Dog 2 times per day, I am also learning to roller blade, all in all, trying.

Unfortunatelly I think I have succumbed under the spell of sugar devil again. Gotta try harder.

I have hardly any time at work to post anything, and I don't have a computer at home. I will try to check in more regularly, after all, it is for my own good...

Gotta run. They have added yet another job to my already long list.

CIAO!

Talking I'm STILL OP!!!!

And the scale is SHOWING it!! This is going to be a great WIW if things continue the way they are going now!!! The metal monster is showing 188 That is down 6 pounds!!

I haven't been eating ENOUGH though. I really need to get more protein in me each day. I've been doing OK in the H2O department, but not great. I have been drinking diet peach tea also, so that takes up some of my liquid intake. (I love that stuff!)

I've been taking my lunch to work each day, no fast food in days. Pretty good since when I fell OFF the wagon, I was eating Super Size value meals from McD's every day at work. Including the Fries!

I have 5 days OP under my belt... and I see it continuing! The only thing questionable I had was a 6-pack of chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A ... they're not heavily breaded, they're covered in spices and things. But it was at the ballpark... better than choosing hotdog, or pizza!!

Well... I have a TON of stuff to do today, just thought I would post MY week, and maybe it will be motivating to someone

Bye!

Deb: where is your granola recipe that I have heard about on this site. I checked the recipe board but couldn't find it. I am not sure what it would be under.

Good Monday Morning,

One of the highlights of the weekend was talking with Monet. She is certainly a delight and I had such a
good time with the phone visit. I am hoping to see her in person this Sunday evening. We are traveling
through Atlanta on the way to North Carolina and we will be near her house on the way. We are still
working out the details but I am really looking forward to this treat.

I had a very nice Mother’s Day although my daughter was in Colorado and I was here. I received some
great cards from her and talked on the phone. We had sort of celebrated Mother’s Day when we went on
our little trip to the Austin area. My husband and I went to a friend’s house and had fun with the group
there. I did succumb to a tiny slice of cheese cake which was delicious but I passed on the white
potatoes. To eat anything with sugar is really a departure for me because I am usually strong but I went
for it that once but I will be very with the program today and throughout the week. The water challenge
will work for me but with all the packing, I am not optimistic enough to believe that I will meet the
exercise goal. I’ll do some, however.

Monet: Is there something I can bring you from Dallas? Whole Foods has had some agave in stock and
runs about $3.69( Well, $3 something) and I could bring you some if you can’t find it in Atlanta. The
telephone conversation was fun and we have even more in common than I suspected....cats, baking,
photography, great husbands...

Jack-K: I am looking forward to the pictures of the wedding. There are always a few things that don’t go
as we would like with such a detail intensive function as a wedding but it sounds like you didn’t let
anything spoil the day for you. That upbeat attitude is what makes the day special. I am glad it was such
a success and you had a great day. With the napkins, you will be able to use them for years and
remember the day fondly.

Zanne: Cleaning the whole place does not sounds like a minor thing to me. I hope the physical goes
well for you. Tomorrow I need to go have a blood test to see if they need to adjust my cholesterol meds.
I bet that cheesecake I ate yesterday shows up...yuck!

Jane: I am with you in wanting to eat whatever I want whenever I want but we both know that it is just
not meant to be for us. I go for long periods of time staying on program and getting good results, then
for no reason, I slip. But this is an ongoing way of life for me, so, I will keep trying. It sounds like you
have picked yourself up also and have a positive plan. Good! Deb’s granola recipe is marvelous. In
fact, I am making a double batch today to take on the road with me. Here is the recipe: I have to be
careful that I don’t over cook it.
ALMOND GRANOLA

1 1/2-2c Rolled oats
1/4 c Oat bran
1/4 c Sliced Almonds
1/2 Tsp. Ground cinnamon
2 Tables Vegetable oil
1/3 c Agave Syrup
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla extract
1/4 Tsp. Almond extract

Preheat oven to 325 F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Combine remaining ingredients and add to dry ingredients. Mix
until all ingredients are moistened.
Spread out on baking sheet and bake about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and redistribute. Return to
oven another 10 minutes, again redistributing after another 10 minutes. Return to oven for approx.
another 10 minutes, or until granola is lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool. Granola will crisp
as it cools. Store in a air-tight container.

Deb: I just love Carraba’s. We are suppose to go out to dinner a lot this week and I hope that that
restaurant will be on the list. I love their chicken dishes and I can stay on program by ordering the
veggies instead of the pasta. Now the fat content is another matter, but I will adjust the portions.

Vesnoid: Hi! What are you doing with your pottery? I love the little bowl I was lucky enough to obtain at
the get together in Florida. That sugar devil can be a real meanie. You are strong, you can beat that
devil.

Beth: Hey, you are being a positive inspiration of what can be done when you stick with the plan. Who
makes the diet peach tea? It sounds good.

I suppose I should get busy with the packing. I need to cut down on the shoes I thought about taking. Ha!

Hi all,

No time for long post. Sorry I've been MIA for a couple of weeks but work has been sooo busy and between both boys ballgames, rainouts, and tornado warnings I've been doing good to remember my head!!

Weight is staying the same. I've gotta try harder to get the downward motion going on again

Deb - I'm in on the water and exercise challenges this week! Just gotta do it!

I'm finishing up my 2nd 20 oz bottle of water right now. Gonna fill up again when I'm done!

catch ya'll later!

Default Water water everywhere

I am about to start my second 30 oz. of water. I put Wylers in SF Pink lemonade in the first one to help it go down easier. This one I am drinking straight up.
