Red face Feeling overwhelmed...

Looking through the forum I am getting very overwhelmed. I have no idea where I belong. I did WW before, but that was nearly 5 years ago, and from what I'm reading... ALOT has changed. I think the 100lb is the way to go, since I have more then that to lose. Once I get some of my 'non-weight' goals met then I will re-evaluate everyting.

Currently:292 Started: 298 Final Goal: 165

I'm doing my weight Goals in 10's. My first at 280 and so on.

Non-Weight Goals:

1) Stop eating fast food
2) Cut down on diet soda & drink more water
3) Do my core exercises daily (given to me by PT as my back is bad)
4) Use my recumbant stationary bike daily

I have a bunch more, but what I've learned from last time; if I set out to do to much at once.... I don't get anything done. The way I see it, if I achieve these 4 goals, the weight goals will start to be met. Money is a BIG thing for us right now, since I"ve been off work since 3/30/11 and won't go back until 5/6/11; that is I don't lose my job. So we have to be careful... That should help with the first goal... but it hasn't.

Any advice would be great, Thanks.

Tina

I think you've given yourself the best advice so far . . . don't start with so much you overwhelm yourself. Small changes at first, best, best thing for you to do

Welcome to 3FC - Good luck to you!!!

Ditto what Coondocks said! Great job for starting small.

On a more personal note, I am an ex-WW girl as well. I LOVE the program but it just wasn't working for me anymore. I'm now just looking at calories. I count the calories in and count the calories out - just like Biggest Loser. I use Calorie Count on about.com and love that I can not only track my calories but also the nutrition I'm getting from those calories. I'm finding that I've been seriously lacking in quite a few nutritional areas.

I am also a HUGE fast food junkie but I just realized as I read your post, that I haven't eaten fast good in two weeks and didn't even realize it! It wasn't an official goal even though I know it to be an important change. One of the things I've been doing is keeping snacks in the car. Raw almonds are one of my favs because they keep my mouth so busy. It really curbs the perceived hunger pains as I pass by the McDonald's on the way home.

You and I have some of the same stats (SW/CW/GW) and as you can tell, I'm very early into my plan as well but am loving 3FC so much - I feel renewed hope.

Keep with it and welcome to 3FC!

You've come to the right place! Welcome, sweetie!

Your plan sounds great, don't try to make a million changes at once if that will overwhelm you. Some people can do drastic adjustments and never look back, but most of us do better in permanently adopting healthy habits if we go one good choice at a time

It sounds like you have a great plan. You are breaking it down into small doable goals. You can do this!

Welcome Tina! I like your plan of deciding what you will change rather than just stating you'll lose some weight, I think it will be much more effective in the long run.

Please don't feel like you are limited to any forum or particular group. You might fit into many different groups and be able to get unique support from each of them.

:0 Tina - I agree with the other gals. Take small steps & fewer mini goals. And then it won't overwhelm you. So you are on the right track. 3FC is a great site & I know you will love it and you make new friends which is a bonus! Keep on keep on.

I read and post in several areas, so don't get hung up on where you belong. It's ALL good! This place is so unbelievably inspiring. Just when you start to think it just can't be done, someone comes along and proves that it CAN!

Best wishes, hope to see you around lots!
