Default A wonderful treat!

The other day I had a horrible craving for ice cream. I went ahead and risked a dangerous trip down the frozen section of the grocery store, pointedly trying to ignore those delicious but fatally fattening favorites (say that ten times fast lol)! Then I came across some ice cream bars that said, "Made with coconut milk." I was curious and so I read the box. They are dairy free, contain 70 calories per bar and 3.5g of fat. They even have 1g of protein and 3g of fiber which I assume is from the coconut milk but I'm not sure. They are also labeled "USDA Organic" which may be of interest to some people. Anyway, I bought them to see how they tasted. I had my doubts considering they are dairy free and even fairly healthy, at least as far as ice cream goes. OH MY GOSH. They are soooo good! Its like a frozen mounds bar. Its a chocolate fudge bar with a hint of coconut. And its very creamy textured! This is perfect for when my sweet tooth nags incessantly at me. I don't eat them every day...maybe two to three times a week after dinner. I just love them! They are called "SO Delicious Minis." The bars are fairly small but they are thick. I definitely recommend them!

are they high in cholesterol? my mom always nagged in my ears that coconuts were high in cholesterol and told me not to eat it often.

Cholesterol only comes from animal products - anything that comes from a plant like coconut will be cholesterol-free.

I love those finds...the little things that make life more delicious while still fitting in your plan.

That sounds wonderful. I've just recently acquired a taste for coconut milk (I had also heard from somewhere that coconut was really bad for you ... can't remember where, though).

I hope this isn't rude, but are they expensive? And do you get a good amount for the price? I'm a quantity over quality kind of girl.

You must be talking about the new 'So Delicious' Coconut line of products. I just noticed them at Kroger's! I'm trying the milk (unsweetened) and so far, I don't like it in coffee, but great in smoothies! I'll look for the ice cream, but I bet none of it is sugar free. And it does seem a bit pricey. But then again, anything that is a replacer for other stuff like real milk and soy milk is going to be. Except Almond milk -- it seems to have dropped lately.

I've noticed the price drop in Almond Milk too. I actually really liked the coconut milk. I put it in my hot chocolate. Yum!

I also drink the vanilla milk in this brand. It is soooooo yummy!! an added bonus is that I don't get that nasty milk "skin" that sometimes get when I make my morning oatmeal with 1 percent milk. They also make yogurt. the coconut flavor is delicious
