Default Simply Heinz Ketchup

I didn't realize I had gotten this until I went to use it today. I was having fries from McDonald's and used some ketchup....the Simply Heinz is terrible. It is SOOOOO sweet. I like a little sweetness, but this stuff is awful.

Have you tried it??

Cooking Light did a review on ketchups a while back and I was JUST re-reading that mag last night.
The Best Ketchups: Cooking Light

Simply Heinz has no HFCS, but 365 brand doesn't in either their regular or organic.

Yes, apparently they are trying to make the HFCS haters happy by using "real sugar". I don't have a problem with either, but their "Simply" recipe is just way too sweet.

Well shoot, I just bought a bottle last night. We haven't tried it yet. I usually buy an organic brand but they didn't have anything organic where I shopped yesterday.

I'm planning to try my hand at homemade ketchup this summer when the farmers market has nice heirloom tomatoes!

I'd like to hear what you think of it when you try it.

I replaced mine with the regular this weekend.

I actually couldn't tell a difference between that and the regular Heinz.

I just bought a bottle yesterday, on sale for 99 cents. Haven't tried it yet, but I won't mind tossing it if it's nasty. (Rarely eat ketchup, keep it around for my SO and kids. . .)

Love Heinz reduced sugar ketchup. Much more vinegar, much less sweet taste.

I haven't tried the Simply Heinz yet, but I did try the new Hunts w/o HFCS. I liked it better than the old Hunts!!! I will ahve to see if they ahve any at the McDonalds here because I have almost a whole bottle of regular Heinz, so I won't be buying any for awhile. I don't use a lot of ketchup.
