Default Seems so DAUNTING...

I'm losing again.... After gaining back alot of weight after the last time i got some off i started "dieting" again. I'm doing carb cycling and a little calorie counting. So far this time i've lost 20.5 lbs in about 4 weeks. The ticker won't do halves even though I entered the exact value. Everybody thinks this is SO incredible, I'm kind of proud of myself...but then I realize "Dude, you've got 209 pounds to go..." I just feel like it's going to take forever and I'm dreading ANY stalls. I am happy i'm losing weight, but somedays it's like. 20 lbs, guy? Really. A DROP in the ocean...

Keep living your life exactly as you have been. Live, laugh, distract yourself and make it your priority to enjoy things as much as you humanly can while you just happen to be shedding weight at a super human rate! (If it makes you feel any better, I lose about .6 a week, with plenty of exercise and calorie counting :P Talk about a microscopic drop in the ocean.)

Life doesn't have to be put on hold while you're dieting. Trust me, make lifestyle changes you can adapt to without having to think too much, and before you even realize it you'll be 300, then 250, then 200...it sort of happens under your nose, and the sooner you make yourself STICK to it, the sooner you are DONE with it!

btw, what are those boots in your profile pic from? They're freaking sweet.

What helps I think is many, many mini goals. I split my total weight loss into I think 8 or 10 goals. One reason is that it is exciting since you are close to the next one and it is reachable in a few weeks. I also reward myself for reaching each goal. List what you want and stick it to each of the goals. It doesn't have to be expensive but something you would like. Some suggestions: a book you wanted to read or a new dvd, an at-home spa day, new pants (usually goes well with a certain weight loss), etc.
I think there is a thread going on right now with suggestions.
If you concentrate on the next mini-goal that isn't that far away, it won't be as daunting. And mini-goal after mini-goal will bring you closer to the big one. You might want to set a reward for it too. Mine is to start horseback riding again. I am dreaming about this for years and I just don't dare until I am fit and at goal weight.
Good luck! You can do it!

Take a look on my ticker at how much I've lost - it's certainly possible and I did it by knowing I wouldn't be perfect, I'd have some ups as well as downs along the way, I set goals to lose just 10% of my weight at a time and focused on that - a much more attainable goal. Good luck!

20 pounds is a great start!! Even people with plenty of weight to lose don't get that far.....they lose a few pounds then gain them back. You can definitely do this - and you've gotten yourself off to a good start, so stick with it! Just think about smaller goals along the way - consider each clothing size, or every 10 pounds, a success, and consider each of those victories your new starting point - you're not going back!

Even better to weigh once a month.

It's VERY motivating!
