Default Hello, new to this thread and looking for a 'home'

I need to loose about 100 pounds. I have never needed to loose this much before but I did get down to a size 12 with Susan Powters some years back. She has a new book out that I just finished reading.

Is there anyone on this section who follows a low fat plan? I could really use some company as I try to do this again.

Welcome !!!

Its nice to have you here. Good luck on your plan. I for one am not following anything in particular, just eating small poritons and making better choices.....oh and lots - gag - of water
I can't really follow any plan for long so cutting my portions way down and eating what I like seems to be helping me ALOT.

Hugs !

Thanks, Leens, for the welcome! I am going to need all the support I can get and hope that I can give some also. I am trying to eat 20 percent calories from fat and trying to exercise 30 minutes daily. Trying is the 'key' word.

Welcome Karefree2!

I'm doing Weight Watchers, which is pretty low fat. But, I'm not counting fat grams or anything. I'm letting WW do the counting for me.

Here's to the healthy new you!

Hello karefreee! I eat BFL style which boils down to 40/40/20.
40% carbs
40% protein
20% fat

It is a wonderful way to eat and I feel much better! WELCOME!

Welcome! I also do Weight Watchers so I don't have to count anything, although for some reason I'm hooked on fitday.com so I usually end knowing how many calories I'm eating and how many I'm burning.

Welcome! I don't follow any specific plan, I just watch what I eat and exercise everyday (and I am a water addict lol).

Welcome! I'm 2 months into this and would not be surviving without this site -- especially the points challenges. I think you'll like it here.

I am counting every calorie, but I eat up to 2200 per day in the ratio of 50% carbd/25%fat/25%protein -- all high quality foods, very little sugar, no refined foods, very little meat. Also work out a lot.

Looking forward to eharing your progress!

Peace,
Paula

Welcome!

I don't follow any specific plan. I am not organized enough. I had a dietician lay out a plan for me some years ago, so it's a little of that mixed with the 90/10 program. I watch what I eat, make good, healthy choices: lean meats & sometimes meatless, whole grains, not drinking my calories, etc. I exercise as much as I can & just joined a gym today!!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have a feeling I am going to feel right at home here. It seems to be one of the friendliest and most active boards. I joined Susans new site but there isn't many posts there and when I need support I need it fast so an active site is very helpful to me!

There are lots of posts to read so again I will just say thanks for the welcome.
