DH and I would like to TTC in the near future but I really, really want to be at a healthy BMI first (I just have this wonderful picture in my head of me skinny but with a big belly). So I need to get to 155lbs to be at a healthy BMI. My final goal is 140 (I'm pretty muscular and have wide shoulder so anything less and I'd look funny. I was 140 in high school and that seemed to be a very good weight for my build but I'm not sure how realistic it is anymore, you know what I mean?) but I won't stress if I don't get there before TTC.
Anyways, what do you think would be a realistic goal to lose the last 38lbs to get to a healthy BMI? I was losing slower before (I had a break in my weight loss journey due to a surprise pregnancy and then miscarriage ) but at that point I was still nursing DD and did not have access to a gym. We're moving and are moving into an apt complex with a large gym (treadmills, bikes, and lots of weights) and a pool that's great to do laps in so I'll have all of that right there for me. I can also cut down on calories more that I'm not longer nursing (and I'm not someone who nursing seemed to help with weight loss either!). DD will also start preschool so I'll have more time to work out too.
We're definitely not going to try for another baby for at least about 3-7 months due to financial reasons, do you think it's possible to lose the weight in that time?

That sounds like a great time frame, and I agree with the others that it is doable. Just be patient and don't panic if you can't get it off in three months. Good luck to you!
That's one of my main reasons for losing weight, too. I don't want to look like Mariah Carey (I'm not a hater, I love Mariah, and she's carrying twins for pete's sake)!! She looks gorgeous, but she just blew up everywhere!! I know everyone carries pregnancy differently, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to blow up everywhere just like her, but I'm trying to lose the weight anyway!
Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'm getting really excited for the move and hope I'll see the pounds just melting off. Alright, I'm going to set 7 months as my pseudo goal time frame and go from there. Now let's see if I can beat that.
