Default can you lose two sizes in a month???

ok sticking to the ww plan has been a breeze for me the past few months, I'm a slow loser so I'm down 10 lbs which I'm proud of because I've worked hard for it. I know I can lose more/faster if I would include some regular exercise... I started training for a new position at work and I'm just mentally exausted each night and I have 8 more weeks to go so I know I can't just keep putting it off because I'm sure once training is over I'll just be mentally exausted from the actual job I'll be doing so I feel like it's an excuse that isn't good enough anymore. April 4th is mine and my husbands 13th anniversary, we have a wonderful weekend planned and he's taking me to a very fancy restaurant that I need to buy a cute dress for. I was really hoping I'd be at 155 or less by then or a size 10 (I'm a 14 right now) do you think if I added in some serious exercise I could be down two dress sizes by april 1st?? if so what kind of exercise would it need to be (guesstimates on how often per week and duration etc would be great) I know this isn't an exact science since we are all so different but I'd love some feedback on this, thanks!! )

I think it is definitely possible to lose 2 sizes in a month, but I also think that finding a dress that flatters you and makes you feel like a hot mama is WAY more important than finding a dress with a 10 on the label.

I say keep working at it, keep on doing what you are doing, and when you get about a week away from your special date go shopping and find the perfect dress that makes you look like a million bucks, no matter what the label says.

I bet you could drop 10 pounds if you reeeeally work at it and do a lot of cardio (you don't have too much left to lose!), but it's hard to say if it would be 2 sizes.

You could lose (or gain) 2 sizes just by shopping in a different store...

LOL.. very true seasgirl! it's not really about being a size 10, I just want to be significantly smaller by then, not just one size but a couple sizes...I've just been working on the diet part for months and doing great, wish I was losing faster but I know my body does what it wants to, LOL... maybe exercise will help tone and even if I was losing slow still the inches would budge a little faster? maybe it's just wishful thinking...

How neat! Mine and DH's anniversary is also April 4th. This will be our 12th, so I take it you got hitched in 98?

I agree to shop for the dress a week from the date. Clothes are weird. Some things I bought awhile ago thinking that I'd be able to wear once I lost, and then when I did, they never quite "fit right" if you know what I mean. Like the cut was wrong for my body or something.

yep got married in 98 very cool that we share the same date! Yeah I think shopping a week before is a great idea who knows, maybe if I kickstart an intense workout I will suprise myself a week before with what size I'll be, lol I'm just so ready to be smaller, summer is around the corner and bathing suits are entering my nightmares, LOL

bargoo, thanks for sharing that! I haven't even went down a size yet, I've lost 10 lbs and my pants are much loser but not at the point I think I need the next size down, maybe in a few more lbs so 15 lbs makes sense for sure.

Do what you can, but dont stress out about it. You can "lose" 10lb easily if you invest in a good pair of Spanx! lol

I think bargoo is right that that 15lbs = one dress size, or at least that's been my experience. If you're already down 10, that means you need to lose 20 lbs this month to get down those two dress sizes. While I'm sure it is possible if you really, really work hard, it's not exactly the healthy way of doing things. I mean, that's 5 lbs per week every week. Sorry to play Devil's advocate like that, but I say just do what you can and buy your dress a week out, like somebody else said.

A long time ago when I became a WW lifetime member I started at 168 pounds and got to 125. I found that each loss of 10 pounds roughly equaled a size for me. I was exercising at the time. Unless you are already close to go to a new size I think it would be hard to lose 2 sizes in a month.

I'm the same way! I'm down 12 lbs (by my scale lol) and my pants are more comfortable, not loose but not tight. But as for sizing, it's true about different brands! I wear a 16 in NY & Co, but in Dockers i wear a 12!!!!!!! Makes no sense! Anyways, congrats on your loss and your upcoming anniversary! You will look beautiful no matter what the number in your dress is
