Default My boyfriend is the biggest nerd ever

I weighed myself on my PE boot camp teacher's scale on Thursday night, and then again on mine on Friday morning, and was complaining because there was only a .4 difference.

Today I weighed myself, and I've lost 2 pounds since Friday, but I was saying I wish I knew how much weight I gained during the day (because my boot camp teacher weighs us around 6 in the evening for weigh ins!)

My boyfriend said, with a cereal bar sticking out of his mouth, "Well, you can weigh yourself at the beginning and the end of a 5 day period. We can average the gain, then compute the standard deviation. Then if you fall within one or two standard deviations of the acceptable mean, you don't have to freak out!"

I laughed so hard. He's the coolest.

You can make a spreadsheet do that for you, too. That is TOTALLY something I would do.

Haha, how cute. Sounds like something my nerdy boyfriend would do. I always ask him science questions when I'm cooking and make him do conversions.

I think that is pretty awesome! he didn't roll his eyes and tell you, you are weighing too much. Instead he thought about it and came up with a solution to your "problem" I think that is a pretty awesome nerdy boyfriend!

He sounds like a terrific guy! I love the nerdy type. So much more interesting and fun to be around.

It's great that he thought of a "practical" solution for you and that as others have said, he didn't immediately scold you for weighing too often.

Haha thanks guys. He is really awesome. He even went for a walk with me last night after the Super Bowl even though he was all tipsy and bloated from hot wings because I have this paranoid fear of getting eaten by a mountain lion.

Hey, I finally got my butt out of bed early and went to that farmer's market! It was soooooo cool. I got a bunch of apples, mandarins, a ton of broccoli, and a bunch of flowers for $8! I love cheap produce.

Since you are weighing on 2 different scales, I wouldn't bother with that. Just weigh at home as you regularly do each week and count that.

since the show "Big Bang Theory" is about all the guys I even dated, I can appreciate this guy a lot. He sounds like a keeper.

Your BF sounds a lot like my hubby. He would have said exactly the same thing. He makes me spreadsheets for my weight loss and exercise stuff and is always doing calculations for me. I don't really have a goal weight, what I want is size 4 jeans. However, everyone and everywhere asks for a goal weight, so he did all kinds of math stuff and used his spreadsheets and info on what sizes I had worn at what weights to figure that I'd probably be a 4 between 110 and 120. Gotta love the geeky boys!
