Pulled Pork?
Is pulled pork allowed on Phase 1? If so can someone post a recipe that they've found to be delectable?
Thanks!

I have been thinking about this my best guess is using the slow cooker w/pork roast or even chops, chopped onions and maybe veggie stock with your favorite spices. If you cook for eight hours on low it pulls apart very nicely, HOWEVER, when I have made this for the fam I usually use 1 cup of bbq sauce (none for me)! Someone suggested substituting sf ketcup - that might work (if you don't mind the splenda).
Again, this is just a guess. If you're brave enough to experiment you can post your findings!

So bizarre, because I was just talking about pulled pork with a friend and how I would make it in a sugar free fashion. I'm going to try to find some recipes.

I have a simple recipe for pork butt in the crock pot. I trim fat, salt and pepper all sides, add 1/4 cup coffee and a can of beef broth. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until it pulls easily with a fork. Timing will depend on the size of the roast. It is not very flavorful but fine as is. In our house we add various BBQ sauces but none are PH1, I'm sure.

I have a barbecue sauce made by KC Masterpiece that is made with Splenda. It's the "Low Calorie Classic Blend" one. If you don't want to make your own sauce and can find this one you could use lean pork like a pork tenderloin. It would be totally on plan.

At Wal-mart. I've had it a while, so I don't know if they still sell it.

I found a recipe that basically says put the loin in the crock pot and cover with a mixture of half a small bottle of liquid smoke and enough sugar free cola to cover the loin. I bought a pork loin and the other ingredients tonight, and I'm going to do this on Sunday. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Just wanted to say I couldn't make it today, because I forgot to take the loin out of the freezer. It's on the schedule for tomorrow, so I will post back here tomorrow night about it.
