Don't get discouraged and look at it in one chunk. I say we don't look at other things in our lives like that (as in, "I have to make 1,100 meals this year ... or I have to wake up for work 260 times this year ... or I have to wash my hands 2,200 times this year, etc.) ... look at it like you're going to lose one pound, 13 more times to reach your second goal!!

You can and will do this, Marianne! GOOD LUCK but most of all, work hard!

This is a great way to look at it! Anyways you're doing great, so keep on going, and before you know it - you'll be there.

I normally look at it per month...just kind of having one of those crazy days where I'm like "UGH...I JUST WANT TO BE CLOSER!!"

If I can maintain about 2.5lbs per week for the next year, I'll be right at my goal...which is totally do able.

Keep your chin up!
I know how you feel, I have a long way to go as well. I also had one of those days earlier this week and I kinda felt like giving up, but that quickly passed.
Don't give up and remember your worth it.
Best of Luck to you.

Oh I totally know where you are coming from. It's just like let's get going already!! I still feel that way sometimes, but way less than before...part of it because I've lost a good chunk already and part of it is because I know through and through now that this is forever, so it doesn't really matter how long it takes, kwim?

Just don't even look at that number! You only need to lose 5 pounds. That does not sound so hard, does it? Lose those 5 pounds and then look at the next 5. One step at a time!

One thing that helps me out of that "OH MY GOSH IT'S JUST SO MUCH" state of mind is that even ten pounds makes a difference. Even ten pounds makes my face look less bloated, makes a difference in how I feel, how my clothes fit, etc. So even if I never lose the whole of it, EVERYTHING makes a difference.

Don't think of it as "I have 143lbs to loose still" think of it as "Wow I have lost 22 pounds already!"

Looks like you are doing an amazing job so far, keep up the good work!!

We started out at a similar weight, and I'm doing it - you totally can! I hit that point at about 280's where it was suuuuuuuuuch a drag, and felt so impossible...but I stuck to it and just kept at it. One thing that helped me was to plan out my weight loss. I created a weekly chart, one column for the date, one column to record my weight, and on the side was what my weight would be for that week if I had lost the 2lbs a week that I'm scheduled for. It helped me visualize my weightloss because I could see it weekly, see where I was on my journey, and be able to stay on task. Do you have mini goal rewards set for yourself? I see your next mini goal is at 275 - what will you reward yourself with? And you only have 13lbs to go to get to that next goal!!
