Default Zumathon

A friend of mine takes Zumba classes about 3 times a week. She's into it-and in shape. She recently added weights to her routine.
I've never done it. I've seen the commercials and heard about it, but I've never considered it.
She told me there was a 2 hour "Zumbathon" today at a local middle school to benefit the athletic department. There was a $10 entry fee and a ton of giveaways, and she asked me to try it. So I did.
I lasted 1 hour, 44 minutes. This was at 9am. It is now 5:17pm and my body hurts from toes to hair. But wow, was it fun!!! I'm pretty sure I burned 700 calories too.
Its nice to know I'm not the only un-coordinated person in my town, either!
Have any of you done Zumba?

Sounds like fun I haven't tried it yet, but a friend just bought the dvds so I'm going to borrow them and give it a go

I've tried out clips on YouTube. That way I didn't have to show off my lack of coordination in public. It's good exercise and I can always fall back on low-impact aerobics when I can't make the moves.

I've been thinking about getting the Zumba Fitness game for my Playstation 3 - it looks like so much fun! Great to hear you enjoyed it! :-)

I've been going to a few classes ..... I've really enjoyed it ....... where I do it - it is all shapes and sizes and abilities of dance! ..... I only felt intimidated for a few minutes ... after that I felt it was fun trying to do all the moves.

I wouldn't worry about not being coordinated; I realized at the class that I wasn't the heaviest person there, nor was I the only one with a complete lack of coordination. Everyone had a really good time, regardless.
