Default 1.3lbs in 9 days - please push me!

I'm nearly through my Christmas gains. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me back onto the waggon!

My original goal had been to hit 159 for my Israel trip next Tuesday. Short of cutting my head off, that's not going to happen. Hey, I enjoyed every Christmas mouthful. What would be really good would be if I could make it back to 162, because that would be an absolute 80lbs lost, and I'd feel wonderful. Yes, I know I feel wonderful at 163.8 but you know what I mean.

So I'm aiming for 1.3lbs off. That would take me to 162.5, and I'd happily count that as 162. PPuusshh me please!!!!!

Hey Rosinate. Remember what got you to 80lbs lost in the first place? Go back there. Make the next week your chance to break the Christmas pounds. Cut back on the carbs- just for a week (I know you are a carb lover), guzzle the water and keep walking. You can do this. You will be swanning around Israel in those gorgeous size 16 jeans and feeling goooooooood !! Be kind to yourself as well. A gain over Christmas is quite common, you have rocked the weight loss and can continue to do so- 3 lbs away from your mini goal is doable. Good luck

Eliana - I am not a fan of deadline dieting. That said, you need to deficit about 4500 calories and need to deficit 500 per day to make your goal. That's doable but its gonna be tough. Try eating a ton of fruits and vegetables, drink a lot of water, tighten up the consumption of fats. For exercise - stand instead of sit, walk instead of stand, run instead of walk.

Good Luck!!

You know, the real challenge will be to come back from vacation without a gain!

I SO envy you!

Head out for a nice long walk today - like 2 or 3 hours. Eat higher protein meals. Lots of water.

Then make a note to yourself and stick it in your calender on "December" about how much you "enjoyed" trying to get off the Christmas pounds. You can enjoy every bite of food over the holidays, just take fewer bites.

Wow! I'd been expecting sort of generic 'Go Girl!' comments, and they would have been great; but thank you SO much for the respect of actual advice as well as ra's!!!!!!! You are great!

In a situation like this every little bit that you can do is important. Fidget! I was wearing a bodybugg for a long time and am considering going back to it. While using it I learned that fidgeting actually does cause a significant increase in calories burned over a period of time if you can keep it up. I also learned that it is as hard a habit to cultivate as it is to break, but if you can do it, I promise it will add to your daily burn.

My best fidget for calories burned is to do a waist twist while sitting. It's hard to explain when I can't show you what I mean, but if you have times where you are sitting but are able to move you turn your upper body from side to side (the faster you do it the better of course). The movement is from hips up, if doing it properly you can feel your bottom moving on the chair a little. I usually have my arms in a jogging position and do kinda jogging motions with them, sometimes I do shadow boxing at the same time. I'm crazy and keep weights in my husband's truck because I do this a lot when riding as a passenger. I also do things like step in place when waiting in a line, tap my feet while working on my computer. Any movement is better than none. I am very rarely completely still if I am awake. People look at me like I'm nuts, but I don't care, I know I have my reasons.

It's wonderful that the Christmas gain is gone. That really set me back too. I have just got that off. I lose slowly about 1 Lb. every 7-8 days. But I just keep thinking even at that rate I should still be at my goal this time next year.
Have a wonderful trip. I would love to see Israel! Have the time of your life And your weight loss is awesome 159 or not.
