Default New and more accurate scale: Start over?

Okay, those of you who may have stumbled on my blog at any point (none of you I bet, but hey it's cool! XD) will see me uttering a ton of curses, hexes and other self expletives at my bathroom scale. The piece of crap is the only way I can weigh myself currently and it's always had a 10 pound error margin.

Yesterday I weighed (this is me getting pissed and hopping on and off the scale over and over) 279, 298, 281, 287, 290, 286 and 293.

Yeah, very irritating. The good news is that I have ordered a 440lbs max SUPER ACCURATE EatRite scale just yesterday and it should be on it's way here. Hopefully within a week or so! I imagine not long since I'm only 2-3 states away from the Walmart home base of evil and lets hope thats where they ship from.

I wanted to know if anybody else would consider what I am thinking of doing:

Restarting. From the top, I mean. Revamping my entire weight loss technique for 2011, sticking to weighing in on Wednesdays and Saturdays, changing up my eating habits, restoring everything on my SparkPeople page to Step 1 and deleting progress (still unsure about this one) and counting this as my starting weight instead of 318. I'm currently 288 - 293 somethingmaybeIguess.

I have the sneaking feeling I'm probably back in the 290's one way or another, but yeah...do you think a fresh start after not losing a freakin' pound during the holidays might be a good thing or would it be kind of a bad idea?

Just keep going. If your eating habits need changing, change them. Maybe make a note in SP about the change so you can see if it changes your weight loss pace.

But don't "start over" just keep going.

I wouldn't make any decisions til you see what your new scale says. but overall I agree - just keep going... You can keep the date in mind on which you got your new scale, just for the sake of comparison, but you're already so well into your journey that it would be a shame to restart entirely!!

edited to add: your 3fc diet blog link on the side redirects incorrectly... I think all you have to put in the box is your blog username ("forkingmyself") instead of the whole link. Hopefully that will help direct some traffic to you
