Does anyone have any recommendations on lower carb protein bars? I currently have Luna bars but they are 28g of carbs and only 8g of protein. I would like those numbers to be closer together.
Something that is tasty is definitely a plus. I don't eat a bar every day, maybe twice a week when I need a quick snack.
I (and other friends) swear by the Think Thin Bars - 20G of protein, 0 grams of sugar (yes, you read that right), Gluten free (if that matters to you). I personally prefer the smooth peanut butter or crunchy peanut butter flavors. They're about 200-230 calories each, and I buy them at Whole Foods and Trader Joes
There's a south beach double protein bar that I tried recently that was super yummy (and I am not even a low-carber!) I got the chocolate, haven't tried the other flavors.
I was just talking about a new protein bar I read about on this forum called Quest. I was able to send away for free samples, but don't have them yet as I only did this a couple of days ago. The reason I decided to check them out is because they're a true low carb bar (4 grams) and still have 20 grams of protein. If they taste as good as they sound this could be a winner for sure.

I received my sample about a week ago and ended up buying several boxes on the weekend. They taste good but I'm more impressed with their ingredient list. A protein bar without sugars or sugar alcohols!

Reason: inaccurate details
I ordered 2 Quest Bars. I just paid the $3.98 with free shipping to get them faster. I ordered 1 of each kind. Then if I like them, I'll buy a box of the ones that I like the most.
Atkins protein choco-peanut bars - 19g of protein, 2g carb, 240 cals...taste outrageously delishous...like a snickers!
Just in case the Quest bars aren't any good...if they are tasty...please post here about it!
I just received my samples today (peanut butter and vanilla almond), I already ate the peanut butter, and it was amazing! I tired a bite of the vanilla almond and it also tasted great. Lots a flavor with almost no after taste. Its hard to believe these things are low carb, and only 2 grams of sugar.
I will be ordering more.
I posted on the other thread - the quest bars weren't for me, but I love the Pure Protein chocolate deluxe (I think they are 3g carbs, 20g protein, 180 cals). good luck!!
I'm not sure if you are looking for a higher protein percentage or just an equal protein/carb ratio. I have been eating the Zone bars for years (especially when I am trying to eat well). They have 16g of protein and 20g of carbs, which for me works really well as a meal replacement if I am in a hurry. I am hypoglycemic and I have never had a crash after having one of these.
I love the EAS Protein bars they have something like 15 grams of protein and 20 net carbs. If I'm ever hungry in Publix, I find that aisle and eat one while I shop. Fortunately the cashier's never look at my like a nut when I give them an empty wrapper to ring up.

I've had these before and they taste great! Unfortunately, I cannot eat a bar with 20 net carbs. I'll still to making my own homemade bars and the quest bars.
