SO, dh is bugging me for a Christmas list- I was wanting to put a medium size crock on it but looking at amazon they have some cool ones that you can get that have the 2-4-6qt crocks included with a warmer- have any of you tried these? That would be pretty cool but not sure if its worth the extra space in the cabinets
I just requested one of these for Christmas. I have a serious space problem in my kitchen and am trying to fix that. I have used a smaller crock for oatmeal. I just put it inside my crockpot, add a couple of inches of water and it works great. Not sure if that would work for other foods though. Generally I just make enough food for leftovers
I got a new Rival crockpot from Target a couple of years ago after I dropped my old one. I am guessing it is the big size and sometimes I fill that up. It does take up a lot of space. I never use the warming setting. No other bells and whistles on mine. I highly suggest you get one with a removable crock so it is easier to clean.
Thanks, Karen! I planned on getting the removable kind... I was thinking 4 qt would be enough for us, and still have some leftovers.. the one I have now(and mainly use for entertaining) is about 1.5qt I think... not big enough for soups and to have enough leftovers!
My Dad has a really cool one, it has 3 inner pots, small, med, and large! I think his is perfect because for just 2 you can use the small but if you have company you can use the big! I can't think of the brand name though. :P
