I am not doing black Friday shopping this year; however, last year I got in line at best buy at 5:30 P.M. on Thanksgiving. We got our TVs that year. My sister went this year, though. My sister and brother-in-law stayed outside of Best Buy since about 7 PM yesterday. They got their ticket for a laptop and tablet (it is like an ipad?). If you want electronics, you have to get their really early. I hope everyone that went was safe!
I am glad I didn't go. I am not feeling too well.

I have never done Black Friday, but we did this year, and it was a BLAST!!!! For me, it was all about the experience, not just all the goodies we got.
My fiance was in line for Best Buy ay 3am while I went to Old Navy. I got a nice jacket and sweater. At Best Buy we got a WiFi built in Blu Ray player and a nice camcorder. Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got a Sodastream (homemade soda maker), toasting flutes for our wedding, and...wait for it...a Shake Weight, hahahahaha.
Best Buy was like a theme park. Wait in line for two hours for five minutes of thrilling high speed shopping.
Definitely a new family holiday tradition, it was fantastic, lol.
Black Friday is the shopping day after Thanksgiving in prep for Christmas. It is named black Friday because it is the day that stores historically went from being in the red to going black (ie start making a profit). I'm not sure if that is still true but that is where it comes from.
My best friend and I were out shopping from 10pm until 6 am the next day. Crazy good deals, but I'm too old (29, lol) to do an all nighter next year.
On the plus side, I now fit into size 10 jeans! w00t!
I just lost 20 lbs, and plan on going down 4 more dress sizes.
So I am going to the local thrift stores today looking for clothes in the 4 sizes.
Most have 50% to 75% off all day.
Some of the stores have 5 items of clothes for $5.
I bought 10 pair of slacks and jeans this morning, (some new with tags for $1 each) ... came home for lunch, now I am going out to another couple stores.
Most people are out at the malls. The thrift stores are really empty today.
