Hi Darlins,
My second father (we adopted each other years and yeras ago)
passed away 11 hours after I got here. It has been very hectic for us all. We are all so worn out but the good news is I have no had to use the wheelchair one time. NOW Theres a first! I have taken care of practicalities. Like Life Insurance, Social Security and so on. My other Mom just got a computer from her son, used but reworked and a good one so here I am letting you all know I am alive. We still have much to do but when I leave she will be able to use the computer have a system for her bills reciept and records that will be easy and functional for her. Dad took care of all these things for the whole 55 years they were married. He passed way easily. Just went to sleep , no gasp nothing just slipped away. I have worked hard keeping everyone together emotionally and making it as easy an adjustment as possible. Still after 55 years together it is hard and reality has just begun to set in for her. She is doing small odd things an forgetting things she normally wouldn't but I told her she could expect that . It will take time. They have a lovely cat who was His cat but quickly attached himself to mom and offers so much comfort. The miracle is I am still standing and for all of us life is coming together. Time really does heal all wounds if we let it and they will come through this as we all do. All I can do is make the adjustment a little smoother and be here to share and support but also we laugh much so that in it'sself is a blessing. I stepped away from my program for a few days but not for long and did not go crazy. Dad was proud of me and I will not fall to the wayside. I will be home the fifth of April and will talk to you all shortly after that. Take Care.
Pam
