Default Small calorie-counting nsv (Popeye's)

Every once in a while, I will be running to a meeting of from a meeting or having a quick break and lunch is eat out and there are few choices I can make it to, well here's a small nsv involving Popeye's the closest one (and arguably the worst):

Last time (Friday, 10/22):
1 biscuit (240 cal/26g carbs/13g fat/2g sugar)
2 mild legs (220 cal/6g carbs/14g fat/0g sugar)
1 small french fries (465 cal/53g carb/26g fat/2g sugar)
1 mild thigh (280 cal/7g carbs/20g fat/0g sugar)
Total: 1,205

Today (Friday, 11/12):
1 mild leg (110 cal/3g carbs/7g fat/0g sugar)
1 mild thigh (280 cal/7g carb/20g fat/0g sugar)
1 small mashed potato and gravy (120 cal/18g carb/4g fat/0g sugar)
Total: 510

Difference: 695 calories!!!!!

I'm not tooting my horn for going to Popeye's at all; it's bad for me, point blank, but this time I feel like I made a few better choices (like avoiding the biscuit and fries) and I don't hate myself and I'm actually quite full. This is one of the many ways my life has changed since I joined you awesome ladies at 3FC and the calories counters, in particular. Thank you.

It is crazy how many calories are in fast food biscuits. Personally, I love popeyes. The onion rings! Luckily there is not one close to me. I wonder if a breast woulda been better than the one leg and the one thigh? White meat is usually lower in fat. But if you are a dark meat fan..

Grats on the better choices! It will get easier.

Hey, it's better than you could have done! You were right on top of those calories, AND got to have food you enjoyed. So I say, yay! Actually, you just inspired me to bypass the fried potatoes tonight (I was going to have like a spoonful) and find something else as a substitute.

Me too since I've never had them...but it is great to make better choices instead of my usual mantra "if I'm going to be bad I'm going to be bad bad!" I've been better at getting control and making better decisions but last night was not the case.

That's a win in my book. Yes, fast food is not the best food for you but if it's the only option available at the moment then all you can do is exactly what you did - make the best food choices you could!!

Thanks ladies, I still feel pretty good about the whole thing

Tornadosiren You pegged me right, I am a total dark meat fan!

Spixiet and Ninacali NO! I didn't want anybody to crave that crap! LOL

Sunshine73 Thanks, I feel like "Ugh Popeyes" but I also feel like "yay! I am making better choices!"

Fit4Lyfe - Don't worry, I'm good :P It's actually a treat night for me, and I get thin crust pizza with tons of veggies...haven't had it in nearly a month, and it's a new favorite - and much less guilt than Popeye's
