I had been "stuck" for about a week. Scale up and down the same pound. I am admittedly a compulsive weigher, it keeps me on track. Anyway.
Stuck. Frustrating but I did not give up. I was worried that over the weekend it would surely spike. Hubs to be and I had a tasting at the place we decided to use for our wedding reception in July. Coconut Tempura prawns, Spanikopita (that has to be spelled wrong), crab cakes, jasmine rice, salmon, Jamacian Jerk fried chicken (the list goes on but man was it GOOD). Anyway, it was a tasting so it was a bite here, a bite there no way to really stay on plan (we do South Beach). To top it all off we went over to his aunt's house and she made Indian, compltete with Na'an and Basmati rice with Apple Pie.
I was TOTALLY stuffed, did not finish anywhere near my plate at dinner and had maybe two bites of pie, and a bottle of wine between the three of us. I also had gallons (I am sure) of coffee (my seriously bad weakness)
OK so here is where my WTH moment comes in.
I got on the scale this morning for weekly weigh in. and OMG, the "stuck" is gone, and the scale seriously dropped over 2lbs.
Does anyone know why that happens? Just curious. Because really, I would be ok having one of those days once a month or so LOL
Its just a happy coincidence. The weight loss was there all along, but you were retaining water some and so for the week the scale didn't move. Just by chance the scale dropped after you had a day where you had more than you should. I wouldn't assume eating more caused it It is one of those very happy chances that happen occasionally.
I love those happy coincidences! I was hoping, but not assuming that eating more caused it Hope is a good thing right??
On another kind of weird note. I. do. not. like. seafood. EVER. And sea bugs (shrimp, prawns, lobster) are ESPECIALLY on my EW list. But...be it a testament to the chef, or my changing taste buds, Crab, prawn and salmon were ALL on my menu on Saturday and they were GOOD! (of course that could have been the temupra batter on the shrimp, the cheese in the crab cake and the mango chutney on the salmon. But STILL) LOL

I agree with you Matt, but my boyfriend begs to differ. He claims when he was on SB a few years ago he would have a "cheat" day once every week or two and the scale would whoosh overnight after being stuck. It might just be the change in the types of food? SB is kind of redundant for him.. he doesn't eat much veggies so it's more of a modified Atkins.
I'm just happy to know that someone else has gotten "stuck" the way I am... I am on the 8th day at the same weight... working my butt off tryin... but nothing!
I'm with Matt. This is just a coincidence. Many people are under the false impression that their *cheat meal/day* caused them to lose weight. Ummm, no. If only .
I believe that weight drop came from all the previous days that you worked hard with no *results*.
What we do today will not necessarily show up on the scale the immediate day after.
It works both ways. Don't be surprised if you jump up again tomorrow or the next day (the wedding tastings).

thanks DixC glad that I could make someone laugh today
rockinrobin- I KNOW huh.I am dreading that jump. But really, I was not THAT bad. I mean we are talking about 1 sea bug, 1 crab cake, a bite or so of rice and protein. The sauces that went with it were very sweet for sure, but all in all, it was not *too* horrible.
now wedding cake tastings after the holidays...will be a totally different story LOL.
EvilGidget-HAHAHA I do not suggest cheesecake. Had some for my daughters birthday last month. I promise you it did NOT have the same result on the scale. Too bad though
I'm another vote for coincidence. Also sometimes working out makes you retain water so you appear stuck when in fact you're not. It's pretty common for me to be stuck for awhile and then bam drop a whole pound or more. I've actually never seen steady loss in that one day I'm x.8 then x.6 then x.4 etc.
