Default Reality Bites

It is my second week back at the gym. I've just started doing weights again after being away for about a year. I had worked up last year to doing 5km jogging, and I was getting really strong after six months. I was living abroad, and going to the gym about 4 times a week. I then got out of it , and moved back to Canada.

It took a lot of determination to go back to the gym, but I was pissed off at myself today, when I realized I wasn't where I was at last year in regards to strength and cardio. I realize a year is a long time and it is so easy to get out of shape if you stop. It is so easy to lose the benefits of weight training/cardio.

Has anyone else stopped going to the gym, and then realized they had to work up to where they were before?

I've been laid up before, and yes, it's frustrating to realize you have to work your way back up. The good news is, you can get it back faster than you got it the first time around. Good work, getting back into the gym!

Thanks for the comment. I had a down moment just for a second yesterday, but I'm pushing past those negative thoughts. I appreciate your feedback and good to know you have been at the same place before. Best of luck to you as well!
