Default My, but weight loss is weird

I lost a whopping 2 pounds the entirety of last month. And now this week, from Saturday to Saturday, I have lost THREE POINT SIX pounds!!

There is just absolutely NO rhyme or reason to what my body does.

Not that I'm complaining...this week.

Oh I hear you Eliana, I hear you! lol
I've noticed as I've got nearer to goal my weight loss is just so erratic now. I can go one or two weeks with the number bouncing around the same 2lbs, then all of a sudden it drops down another 1 or 2lbs below the previous bottom number, with no explanation for it.
On Thursday I saw my lowest number yet, 145.5lbs, only .5lbs away from my initial goal, but then the past 2 days for no reason it's back up to 146.5lbs... But I'm learning that if I just keep going it will drop again soon, just not when I want it to and probably not when I'm expecting it!

I know what you mean, too. But then I remember back to when I was watching the scale bounce around 270 and 260 and I know it will move again. I will not let it make me crazy. I watch the scale everyday. I weigh once a week with WW. I am vigilant and I can see the overall trend even when it is a straight line.

Mine does the same thing, like I dropped down to 279 last week, then it sprung back up to 283 for several days, then today it's 278. I find, too, that while most women gain weight during their periods, my weight always declines rapidly during those days.

God only knows what our bodies are up to.

Weird is the word.

2 days ago, I ate just under 1200 of my 1400, because I just didn't need any more that day. Next day - weight up half a pound.
Yesterday I ate more like 1500, with a degree of haphazardness, just one of those days. Today down a pound and a half.
Like you, *today* I'm not complaining!!

completely agree! Sometimes it feels like you're sticking to your plan like glue, doing everything right, and yet sometimes the scale moves and other times it doesn't. I know it's completely illogical, but every time the scale moves down, I feel like thanking an inanimate object for doing what I wanted

Congrats on the loss! It just reminds me that every body is unique. No two people will lose the weight the same way. Everyone's journey is different.

I'm glad to see this today because I've been having some weird scale trends myself. No rhyme or reason for it. I've been 100% on plan but my weight seems to be bouncing up and down the same pound or so for the last few days. It's frustrating but looking back I see a trend where I do this every week or so for a few days.

Yeah, that's kind of why I posted it. I KNOW it's normal and that we're all different, but after a while (like a month of no loss), you start to think you're doing something wrong. And sometimes these are self-induced plateaus. But sometimes they're just not.

I have a note in my BlackBerry which pops up from time to time:

"Plateaux are good. They're when the body is deciding whether to keep fat or to let go gracefully."

Like many good things, you won't be surprised to hear it came from someone else on this forum.
