Hi chicks....glad to be back home in my 'food comfort zone'. Glad the Halloween candy is out of sight! I had a good visit with my family.

For today:

breakfast - toast with pnb, morningstar bacon, green drink

lunch - turkey and lite cheese, mustard, spaghetti squash with parm cheese, icbinbs

snack - banana fiber muffin

dinner - cheese toast, tomato soup, green beans

snack - rice cakes, lc cheese, apple

I need to get back to my journalling and keeping track of the behaviors I am working on.

Have a GREAT day.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well. I am leaving EARLY tomorrow am for a conference. I will be gone until Friday. I am excited about the conference (it's at a resort), but concerned about food. There will be lots of healthy choices, but most meals are a buffet and there will be even more unhealthy choices there. I had a great chat w/ my wellness coach last week to prepare, so I am going to do my very best to stay OP. I am also taking workout clothes so I can either go for walks or hit the gym (they have a gorgeous gym!)

I haven't decided if I am taking my laptop or not. If I do, I will be able to check in each day and I will! If not, I'll catch up w/ everyone this weekend after I get home!

Safe travel MJ - My approach to buffets now are to scope it all out and take only ONE plateful (all healthy or perhaps include one little special food) and no seconds allowed. It actually has helped.

Glad you are taking your workout clothes.

Enjoy the conference.

Hello everyone,

Well, I live right off campus in a collegey part of town, so we just have sluts and frat boy idiots running around on Halloween so there is no threat of having candy around. ha. Which is good.

The last week has gone well, on plan, lost 2 lbs, ( 5 total since I've returned ) and I have been REALLY busy the past week and still managed to stay On Plan which is when I seem to have a problem. hecticness does not go well with my food plan.

I work today, so I'm just eating some pb and j before I leave and having a very very late lunch, then a very late dinner later on. ha. bf is bringign groceries home tonight!

Hi everyone. Well, October is over and that is one busy month for me. I'm ready to settle back into my routine and do some concentrating on me and my goals. It kind of took a back seat last month, but that's done now. Moving forward!

Beverly - Good plan to do the journaling. I'm trying to get the dust off my notebook and get it going again, too.

MJ - Hope you have a good time! Keep in touch if you can. If not, we'll be anxious to hear back from you!

Lottie - Congrats on the 5 pounds! Keeps you motivated to see that happen, doesn't it?

Have a great day everyone!

Hello Chickies!

Handed out gobs of Halloween candy last night and sent the rest with the hubby to work this morning.

The bad news: I ate like a hog Saturday night, including some candy, while at a friends house. The good news: Cut my calories severely on Sunday to make up the difference. Did not have any candy on Sunday!

Back on track today! Weight still stable at 187.8

I don't know if it's the shift in weather but I am craving some roasted root vegetables! I am off to the grocery store in just a bit. I'm thinking carrots, rutabagas, turnips, who knows what else....Oh, and I'm also craving cabbage so I'm getting a couple of heads. I've got some asparagus in the freezer so I may just roast a ginormous amount and eat off that for the week. I also have some shrimp and some orange roughy in the freezer so that's also going on the menu.

I haven't been in the mood to cook in forever but the cooler weather is inspiring me! Maybe, I'll even think about making some soup. Any good recipes from anyone?

Enjoy the day!

Hi chickis - yesterday was a healthy day....always grateful for that. Yesterday I tried Dr. Oz's 'green drink' and it kinda upset my tummy. I think I need to tweek it. I am not giving it up yet.

For today:

breakfast - turkey, toast, green drink

lunch - egg whites with feta cheese, mushrooms, spinach, toast, steamed carrots

snack - fiber muffin

dinner - turkey burger, cheese, lite mayo, salad, mashed

snack - oatmeal, pnb, 1/2 banana, milk

anewcreation - glad you hopped back on your plan...hmm, roasted veggies do sound good.

diane - yes, I agree, routine is so good for keeping us on our plan. Carry on!

lottie - good job on losing more weight. Five pounds is awesome. Good planning too especially during a busy, busy time

mj - hope your conference goes well.

Have a great day.

Hi-I'd like to try this. I think it will be a great tool.

Here's how Nov 2 went:

B= 4 fig-bar cookies, water
L=1 cheese and onion enchilada, side salad with dressing, pears, water
Snack=small chocolate chip cookie slice
Dinner: pot roast w/ potato and carrots, water

Exercise: 30 min walk and stretching

Here's the plan for today:
B=low-fat pop tart, water
L=side salad with dressing, pears, water
D=not sure..meeting a friend for dinner at PF Chang's
Exercise: 45 min Zumba class at lunch

I used to eat ceral in the mornings but I'm finding that I feel nausous afterwards and I think it's the milk, so I'm thinking of switching to oatmeal. Is there a certain kind you like/recommend?

Okay, reset my short term goal ticker since I met my first short term goal! !

I had a challenging day earlier.

I got up, and didn't eat 'breakfast' until around 1 p.m I was SO hungry and me and bf had to walk up tot he main drag to pick up our kinect (which is absolutely INSANE!), anyhow, I was so hungry and I knew I had to go home, pack my netbook and stuff up and go back up there to go to the coffee shop to meet a fellow nanowrimo writer. I didn't think I'd have time to eat at home and I KNEW that if I went to the coffee shop hungry I would end up eating a pastry, not being satisfied, and THEN, heading straight to the chinese buffet next door. I was seeing my Plan crumble.

I decided to just out while i was up there. So, we went to Qdoba. I like qdoba because they have a nutrition calculator on their site and I had used it before so had an idea of what I could get.

I ended up getting a naked ancho chile naked bbq burrito.

I got it with rice, black beans, chicken, bbq sauce and a little corn salsa.

It was 700 calories. More than I wanted to 'spend' but I was so hungry. Just no getting around it.

So, I came home and tried to figure out a way to have that same meal but to tweak it a bit to get it to be around 500-550 cals.

Apparently, if I sub the cilantro rice with fajita veggies instead, It'll be I think around 520 cals.

Which is TOTALLY acceptable to me for a restaurant meal!

I was proud I didn't get ANY cheese or sour cream though. Next time, smarter choice on the veggies. For sure.

Yesterday was a healthy day...always grateful for that.

Both DH and I caught colds from our sweetie grandson last weekend.. I made chili yesterday for DH. Lately, I can't eat any spicy foods - so I'll go for healthy egg salad.

Saturday college football today - love watching it on the boobtube.

breakfast - grapes, morningstar bacon, pnb toast

lunch - egg salad, rice cakes, roasted veggies

snack - fiber muffin

dinner - lean pocket, salad with evoo & vinegar

snack - cheese and apple

Have a great day.
