Question Kickboxing DVD?

A friend had a bring-a-friend-for-free invite to her kickboxing class, and I went with her this evening. I loved it! Unfortunately, I can't afford to enroll and the class time conflicts with my schedule some weeks, so I'm looking to purchase a DVD instead.

Any recommendations? I'd like a "real" kickboxing routine, not cardio with a few kickboxing moves. (And please don't say Turbo Jam, because if I had an extra $100 I'd just go to the class!)

TIA

Cathe Friedrich has some nice kickboxing workouts (you can check out long clips on her site).. There's also Taebo, you can check some out on Netflix before buying.

I recommend Taebo with Billy Banks.

What are the similarities/differences between kickboxing and taebo?

I've never been to a "kickboxing" class, but I used to take a Cardio Karate class and found very little difference between that and Tae Bo. Actually, the only real difference is there were punching bags in the Cardio Karate class and I don't own one to use in my own home.

I really like Tae Bo, I bought the Amped version at Walmart for maybe $30 and it comes with a bunch of dvds and a weighted workout bar. It was a bit intense for my fitness level though, so I'm working my way up to doing the Tae Bo. For now, its Zumba all the way!

K-Mart has this is Tae Bo for $9.99. I think Walmart has it for $10 or so. http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-...is-tae-bo-5867

i second the cathe workouts. she has several kick boxing w/o. you could get used dvds. or do downloads, they are on sale now. there are several kb w/o for $15. i think some are $10 or less. if you decided to get a few. then when the workout blender is released, you could use it to make new workouts. mixing up the downloads in different ways.
i also recommend the HiiT workouts. i hear they increase endurance. only 8 bucks each as a download. as a dvd, it's about $28. for all 3 HiiT w/o.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I got a Kelly Coffey kickboxing DVD super cheap on eBay but I will be on the lookout for a Cathe Friedrich one as well.

I did some research about taebo. If I understand correctly, it was created by Billy Blanks as a workout that includes elements of kickboxing. Kickboxing itself is a martial art, not an exercise routine (though it certainly is a workout!)

If you get Fit TV a lot of Cathe's workouts are shown on there for free. I have her Kick, Punch and Crunch on my dvr and I love it.
