This happened to me a couple of years ago and it scared me a little because both my Mother and Grandmother had breast cancer. But everything was fine; I have lumpy breasts and one of the lumps just got caught at a particular angle on the film.
For me the first mammo was worse. I didn't eat breakfast and the room was a little warm so I think my blood sugar must have went too low. I remember the technician telling me to hold my breath and the next thing I knew I was getting up close and personal with the dust bunnies on the floor -
I had passed out. Scraped up my face and arm and bent up my glasses. Imagine how the technician must have felt when the 300+ lb patient started falling to the floor.
As for your surgery, I had to have one as an outpatient in 2008 and was worried about the anesthesia (sp?). I remember transferring to the table and the mask coming towards my face and then.....................
the nurse was telling me it was time to wake up. Granted I hadn't slept the night before so I was really tired.
I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. It'll drain your energy.
