Default I can't stand greek yogurt

So I'd been eating non-greek yogurt, I eat it every day or my stomach hates me. So this week I decided to buy some greek yogurt and I think its just ghastly. I could barely force it down.

So my question is two-fold

1) Is there any way I can use greek yogurt that it doesn't taste so....greek yogurty (ie smoothies, etc) that people have tried and liked?

2) What is the best non-greek option?

I had such high hopes for it, but I just can't do it. I don't dislike much, but this I just can't stomach!

I know, it's like sour tangy sour cream.....I can't stand the stuff either. I know it's supposed to be good for you, I've tried 4 different brands.....at least for me I haven't found a way I can handle it. The greek yogurt aftertaste is still there in a smoothie, although the brand does make a huge difference.

Yeah...I can't eat it plain like some other folks can. I can only stand it if it's the flavored kind. Even then, I'd much rather have the fat free yoplait I don't even know if that kind is allowed...but I eat it anyway.

I use it like sour cream, in mexican dishes, stir a dollop into my homemade mushroom soup, use it on potatoes, etc. I know a lot of people say they use sweeteners like honey or splenda, but I'm fine using it the way I do!

I love it. But anyway, try adding a packet or two of TRUVIA!

For goodness sakes, no one told you to eat it as is. Do you just sit down to a bowl of sour cream? Mix it with fruit, preserves, add lemon or vanilla and a little sweetener. I like to put a teaspoon of cocoa, a little vanilla and a packet of sweetener in it. Or you could just by the flavored Greek Yogurt. The stuff you are eating is barely yogurt - look at the ingredients. It has half the portein and is thicken with chemicals.

Several of us here on The Beach enjoy it with a drizzle of agave nectar and toasted nuts. Yum!

Sorry, new to SB and a little off subject. I saw that some are using agave. Is that ok, on all phases, or just 3. I would have guessed it would only be safe on phase 3.

I can't eat it without a dash of Splenda.

Splenda, vanilla and cinnamon. Right now I'm into putting pumpkin pie spices in it. On Phase II I add fruit to it. Microwaving an apple and mixing it in with cinnamon is fantastic!

Default I like Greek yogurt

I enjoy Greek yogurt, but I can see your point. We always buy Stony Field Farms yogurt, both Greek and not. I can actually enjoy the non and low fat yogurts.

I think it's OK to use it on Phase 2; however, it is not a low-calorie food, so use it sparingly. Agave nectar's redeeming value is that it is low on the glycemic index and does not induce cravings.

Someone on here posted that they mix the greek yogurt w/ 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter and a couple of packets of Splenda. I tried that and it is YUMMY!!! I use it to dip my apples in. YUM!!!

When I use it I count the calories towards the 100 calorie daily sweet-treat limit.
