Thumbs up October Exercise Challenge

Everyone is welcome to post fitness and exercise goals for September here and then track them through the month. Track your workouts, your minutes, the times you take the steps instead of the elevators, anything that gets you moving more whether the goal is big or small.

We have a sister thread October Weight Loss Challenge for weight loss goals. Join in one thread or both! We'd love to have you with us.

I'm going for 1800 minutes again. It will be just a bit easier than September since I'll have 31 days to get it done!

I've never done a workout challenge but would love to join. I want to set a cardio goal of working out 5 times a week for 20 to 25 minutes. Thats 125 per week for 500 minutes of cardio in four weeks. I also hope to trendy train 4 days a week. To make it a challenge I'll add 200 minutes and 4 stength session.
So my goals will be 700 minutes of cardio and 20 weight training sessions.

I'm excited to be focusing on more than just pounds this month.

Default Loves it !

you guys are awesome !

Ok beautiful people, let's do this ! Another month, another oportunity to do things that will make us happy.....aka EXERCISINS ! (making "exercising" sound like "raisins" makes it way cooler ! )

So I am busy 255896 hours out of 24,wich means tiny goals, immense efforts !

1. stretch in the morning 3 times a week
2.cardio twice a week.
3.stand up while I teach instead of sitting down.
4.do resistive training twice a week.
5. clean up my room everyday (that must count for burning calories right?)

yeah ! I think this is reasonnable. I want something to keep up for the next six years. I am sure many people here used to train like crazy and fatigue stopped them a few months...and then they have to start over again !

Let's be reasonnable and fabulous ! we can do this !

Well, I can finally be a tad more creative with my goals, but I'm not officially starting with my October goals until a few days after the marathon (the 8th, I think). I hear it takes a while for the body to recover. I will, of course, exercise in the mean time, but on a scaled down level.
So my goals for October 8-31 are:
Minimum 2 days strength training
Minimum 3 days run
Minimum 1 day other cardio (most likely swim, bike)

I've been really slacking with my exercise lately, which bites because I love the gym and I love weight lifting. But I've had a wedding in the family, a sprained ankle and a cold/flu that just won't go away - excuses right? In any case, I haven't had a decent workout in over a month, so I love the idea of this thread. Just quit smoking about 2 weeks ago and I really want to get back into running, which I've hated for many years because I ran track competitively when I was younger and injured both my knees.

Anyway, my schedule is ridiculous and hectic and my goal for October is to get into the gym a minimum of 3 times a week for sessions that involve 30 min cardio AND 30 minute weights.
