Default My shoes are too big...and other complaints.

I wore a knee length dress to work today...with hose and heels. I've worn the dress to work before, but today I kept getting compliments. It was uncomfortable. My coworker asked how much weight I had lost. I know this sounds silly, but when I've lost weight before, I always get nervous when people start noticing. Then I start eating more again.

Another thing I noticed was my shoes were too big. I had never had that problem before with this pair of shoes. But I could barely keep them on.

So, I've lost 27 lbs...in my boobs and feet. Hopefully, the next 27 will come from someplace else.

Yeah, me too. I don't need Wides any more, but I can't imagine my feet getting shorter with weight loss.

LOL! It will come off elsewhere as well, and soon. It seems to come off in reverse order of the way it went on. I lost the rear end first! I was quite happy for that.

I feel your pain in the shoe department. The only gem in weigh gain for me was that I could almost wear medium sized shoes...almost. Now I'm back to AAAA on one foot and AAA on the other. I always said these toothpick feet of mine were meant to carry a far different body.

Congrats though - I mean really, buying new shoes isn't a bad thing Oh, and I caught your comment about not liking people commenting on the weight loss (not that you said you didn't like it) but got nervous etc.

Don't let people giving you a compliment make you nervous. Turn those compliments into little nuggets of motivation - turn them into energy to keep going. I know it may sound silly, but write them down and put them on your bathroom mirror. They should make you feel good that you are making progress - not angry or nervous that you're getting them!

Before I gained the weight I have now, I had gained and lost about 30 pounds. I would get flat out pissy when someone noticed because in my mind I would berate myself for getting fat, and then mad because I had to lose, and even madder that someone noticed that I had lost. Our minds can be our worst enemy... so let it go. Revel in the progress, let it be what it is, and continue on!

Haha, I'll step off the soapbox
You go girl!

I'm with SassyPoppet - buying new shoes isn't a bad thing! (ummm..... they weren't a favourite pair of shoes, were they?) Nice to have clear results of the weight loss - now keep going!

congrats on the weight loss - and im sure the feet were partly a reduction in swelling too. keep up the amazing work and enjoy the compliments without letting people invade your privacy on the details.

Being overweight really makes my feet swell - esp if I've been sitting too long (in a plane, stuck at work). The more I lose the less my feet act like ball park franks. It will be nice when I'm not a wide anymore (I am pretty sure this will happen). And I'm pretty sure I will be happy to buy bras that aren't 44D anymore!!

Congrats on your progress!

Thanks everyone! I guess buying new shoes isn't such a bad thing...and luckily, they weren't a favorite pair. Regular width shoes do seem to be easier to find.

I guess I need to get used to the comments because I have a long way to go. My co-worker was trying to help and was telling me that she needed to lose weight too (toothpick). She said we needed to tell people to stop bringing us food. I told her to just not eat it. She looked at me like I was crazy.
