I had a bit of a funny experience yesterday and thought I would share.
My partner is something of a curmudgeon. He is. Heart of gold, attitude of a bear with an abscessed tooth. During all the recent medical brouhaha he's been an absolute star. And, needless to say, he is not a great giver of compliments.
I've been in convalescence during the last week, and part of that has been figuring out what I can eat after having a gall bladder removed. So, I have eaten all sorts of things, good and bad, mostly in small volumes. One really large meal. Yesterday he expressed concern over what I've been eating THREE TIMES, saying that if I gained so much as a single pound I would be insufferable.
And then he added that he likes my derriere the way it is these days, and hopes it stays that way.
Why can't men just give a straight compliment???
