Red face "No, really ... they DO taste good!" (Recipe)

That was what I said to my husband tonight when I fixed this recipe (after he saw the ingredients). Honestly though, you can't even taste the beans in it, and it's soooo good. Just thought I'd share.

Black Bean Brownies
Servings: 20 servings • Serving Size: 1 brownie • Calories: 194 • Points: 2 ww points

1 can (15 oz.) black beans
1 box brownie mix

Open can of beans, drain and rinse well. Put beans back in the can and fill can with water. Put beans and water in blender until smooth. Mix pureed beans with brownie package mix. DO NOT add eggs or oil. Spray baking dish with Pam. Cook brownies according to package directions. Cool and serve.

Sounds like a good way of getting fiber into brownies. I might try it myself, for my daughter who needs fiber.

Oh I have no doubt they're yummy...

But for me, I'd have to stay away... that's a fairly small serving for 194 calories.. I need/like/require volume and filling power for my cals... plus, it's full of sugar and chocolate, so it would be hard for me to stop at just one..

Let's just say that I have issues with certain foods .

Interesting. I'm with Robin on this one. If I made brownies it would be for company and I'm not sure I'd experiment on company. But I will file this in the back of my brain. Maybe for a planned after dinner dessert.

If you don't want to use the brownie mix you can also make them from scratch, there's a recipe on happyherbivore dot com
