Thumbs up My First Mini-Goal

On November 13th, 2008 I gave up soda cold turkey (all of it - even diet), and I haven't missed it at all, but I started drinking MORE sweet tea, which honestly isn't any better than soda, considering all of the sugar that's in it. And I drink wayyyyy too much of it.

So, I've decided my first mini-goal will be to lay off the sweet tea and start drinking more water and Crystal Light. I know I can do it - I proved that to myself when I gave up soda - but I feel like this is going to be even harder to do because I'm much more addicted to it.

Wish me luck!

That's a good idea. I never considered the flavor packets.

I gave up soda November the following year, 2009. So it's been almost a year for me. I don't miss it either!! But I drink only water and sometimes milk. It sounds awful, and no one I know believes me, but I don't miss it at all. And I was one heck of a pop addict!

Now, whenever cold season hits I do crave pop, but that's another story.

What if you started out slow by replacing the sugar in your sweet tea w/ sugar substitute??? But, then again, if you think you can go cold turkey I guess that's not really a good suggestion. LOL

I used to drink Pepsi like it was going out of style, but I gave it up when I started Southbeach. I do drink sweet tea, though, but I use Splenda instead of sugar. Being a born and bread Southerner, it was tough for me in the beginning...but now I'm used to it. Next step is going to just water, Propel, and flavor packets...but I'm not ready for that just yet.

I'm used to drinking a gallon of sweet tea a day. (I know ... really bad). So far I've gone one day without it, and I'm already craving it something awful. Ugh.

WTG on giving up the soda! If you can do that I am sure the sweet tea will be a breeze!!
