I will clear out my closet and donate all clothes that no longer fit-too big! I will re-assess my purse collection and donate those purses that I have not used in a couple of years. I will do the same for my shoes.
Thanks, onebyone, for getting us going..as I recall, you got us started the last time we did this.
Kudos to you, Summer2010! Great job on your loss and clothes too big..and neat on your donations.
I'm in...hope this is not a cop-out, but until I locate all my veggies in the garden, I will be de-cluttering (weeding) that!
Now, cut me some slack..I really took the last challenge seriously and did some *serious de-cluttering. I can prove it..still can't find A THING!!! My indoor de-cluttering will wait until November, when I am driven indoors by deer hunting.
oohhh, now this is a challenge I could really use! Besides an over all less clutter goal, cuz there really is a lot that needs to go...my main goal would be my bedroom. It seems to be the catch all for things instead of a relaxing place to be. Besides, i cannot fix my treadmill till I can get to it. ;-)
Books and CDs! I digitized all my CDs so I sold most; will give away the rest. And reference books I've had for years...don't need anymore with Internet research. Last time I moved the guys said I had a LOT of stuff for a 1BR.
1) get rid of the stuff on the floor in front of the bookcase on the left wall. not perfect but done: aug 23/10
2) get rid of the stuff on the floor on the rug in front of the tv stand. done: aug 24/10
So I was working on the stuff in front of the tv and I cleared it away but I see I have moved a few boxes that need nit-picky sorting back to the left side, not in front of the bookase but more beside the bookcase on the left wall, which is not a wall but a window.
I do have a bag of garbage and an empty box or 2 to toss.CREDIT I do have room now to use the wii, DDR mat and all, CREDITso I know I made progress but it's not perfect. I still shuffled some stuff. I suppose I an see it half empty or half full.
Progress not perfection right?
For me it has to be good enough.
btw nice to see so many becksters decluttering too! I'm glad I'm not the only one
Thanks, onebyone, for starting this thread. I've made so much progress over the years, yet some areas are still such a struggle for me. I am an avid recycler and often find it hard to get rid of something simply because I don't want to put it in the trash.
After reading posts, I once again went to my office and made quite a bit of headway. I had at least 6 old cell phones occupying a drawer and they are out ready to go to a recycling location. I found out that Verizon has a program, http://aboutus.vzw.com/communityservice/hopeLine.html which can help one to find a drop off location practically anywhere.
I got all my beading supplies in a case which isn't perfect but is a start.
I sorted through my winter coats (none of which fit) and will see if I can find a few more items to drop off at the thrift store.
My goal would be to have my office and personal walk in closet dejunked by labor day.
Help me! I have a collection of seeds; pumpkin, cucumber, all kinds of misc flowers...I will probably never use them. Can a recycler like me just put them all in the compost? Then start over in the spring?
