Roasted green beans...
where have you BEEN all of my life!
I've roasted every single other veggie imaginable but NEVER FRESH from the garden green beans.
I made myself three cups (raw) with 1 T EVOO, lemon pepper salt free seasoning and fresh cracked pepper.
I ate... them... ALL. True I just had that and two hb eggs for dinner... but ALL. And they were so freaking good!
ah. Full. happy

Roasted green beans is just about one of my favorite all time foods - and my family's too.
WE LOVE THEM!!!
I roast them with thinly sliced onions and fresh chopped garlic and some sea salt. I can't even begin to count all the people that I have told about this fabulous food find here at home. It gets raves from every one. It is a staple in my diet and I eat it OFTEN. They're on the menu for this coming Friday night. Yummmmm....

Extra Virgin Olive Oil = EVOO I know about it from watching Rachel Ray.
The green beans sound great! I might just give it a try too. Thanks!

Absolutely one of my favorite veggies! I think that they're a great sub for French fries...you get that same crunchy/greasy/salty satisfaction without the guilt.

So for us other English speakers are green beans the long, string bean kind of things, or something different?

Yup.
My *recipe*:
I take about 1 tsp of oil and spread it thinly on a roasting sheet (that I've covered with aluminum foil - easier clean up), than I lay the green beans out, and spray it with a bit of cooking spray. I place it in the oven at 400 degrees and bake for about 10 - 12 minutes. Than I place the onions and garlic and sea salt with the beans. I roast another 15 minutes or so, turning a couple of times, till they begin to get wrinkly and a bit brownish.

Yes, green beans are string beans. Yum.
Adding some dill weed with the salt and olive oil is also a yummy way to go.

I don't know how far I would have gotten without roasted green beans. Seriously.
