Default Why use an old pic of me?

My dad just made a nice collage of all my grandmother's children and grandchildren. In it, he cropped out the faces individually of my brother, his wife and their children from a picture I sent him of ALL of us from just a few weeks ago. The face shot he cropped out of me is from a picture taken three years and 65 pounds ago! Why on earth couldn't he have used the same shot as the picture he used for my brother and SIL? I'm in it...and my head is off by itself...easily cropped.

I emailed him and told him very kindly that I'm embarrassed by that picture and couldn't he please use a recent one? Shoot, he even has a picture of just me I recently sent him.

Dads. Sheesh.

Weight is a touchy thing for daughters!

*Sorry to all the men on the forum*

The thing is.... Dads are men and men just don't seem to be sensitive to our issues with pictures and weight. Hopefully he will fix it!

It's totally a guy thing, it doesn't even occur to them whether a picture is flattering or not. They need an image, so they pick an image. That WAS an image of you, so it fit the criteria

I don't think my husband has ever looked critically at a photograph in his life, its just not the way he is. That's common among males.

I know how you feel.
My mother puts my childhood pictures
on facebook from when I was so chubby
and I cringe at them every single time!

the sweet thing about it is:

He doesn't see any difference He's probably always adored you, just the way you are, whenever you are that way ^_^

I know my dad is like this! He doesn't see the weight, he doesn't see my hair, he doesn't see my nail polish or my make up. He always just sees me and he adores me

Dads are funny. He said on the phone he just grabbed a picture, so Arctic mom was right! LOL! He was just fulfilling the requirement.

It was no problem to fix and he felt bad for not thinking like I do. He had some other "male" type errors to fix as well that I was able to help him with and now I think the project is quite nice. It was really a very thoughtful thing he did.

Yes, that sounds like all the men in my life. It's good he didn't get defensive and was happy to adjust and use another picture for the collage, though . Nobody wants to be immortalized in a less than flattering light (especially after so much weight lost!).
