Default constipated on weight watchers?

ive been doing ww for a little over 6 months now and for about 4 of those months ive noticed ive been really constipated not being able to go to the bathrooom not nearly as often as i used to.
i went and had a full physical and the doctor told me its because my fat intake has decreased so much that this is whats causing it.

she told me to take a tbsp of olive oil a day and dont have to count the calories because it doesnt get absorbed.

has anyone had the same problems?
or any other health problems with long term ww?

My friend and coworker had the same problem starting about her second week on the diet. Turns out she was eating TOO MUCH fiber! Probably that and a combination of switching to a low fat so there's less "movement" so to speak.

Once she cut back on her fiber a little bit she is fine as far as I know.

well the typical response to constipation is to have more fiber, but on weight watchers you are already getting probably way more fiber than what you were getting before.

Another thing my friend uses when she has trouble is that odor-free, taste-free castor oil.

Unfortunately I seem to have the EXACT OPPOSITE problem so I have no first hand tips

well ive logged my food daily for 6 months give or take a few days, and it seems like im not getting enough fiber.

im going crazy with fiber one cereal and v8 juice.

if youre having the opposite problem you should try eating less fat, i know carbs are evil, but i always get really "have-to-go" like when i low carb. makes me feel really sick.

sometimes when my boyfriends tummy gurgles and he cant not potty i tell him to eat a piece of bread and maybe it will absorb some of the grease.

its thats the problem, you can also eat less dairy and drink more water

I just wanted to throw my two cents in here... I had that problem... A lot! I eat an Activia Light Yogurt every morning and it totally solved my problem. It was a life saver to me...

I hope that this helps you!

okay let me ask you a question are you drinking at least 8 glasses of water? With the added amount of Fibre you are consuming, you need lots & lots of liquids. othwise that use to c ause some of my problems. On days that I have my Fibre one or all bran I drink more than 8 glasses of water. just a suggestion
