Here I Go
Hi!
Today's the first day of phase 1. After *many* failed attempts at dieting and feeling absolutely down about myself the last two months, I decided to try South Beach. It's a new month. I have 3 whole weeks before classes start up again so that should give me plenty of time to get this established. I read through the book and different websites and South Beach seems to make sense. I just made two eggs and they were so very gross. I'm going to have to find something different for breakfast. (I'm so not a breakfast eater.) Anyway, I'm going to really try with this and you'll hopefully see me around more often.

Cris, you are going to do great.
If you don't like eggs, don't eat em! Nothing wrong with having dinner for breakfast (leftovers make a great breakfast!!)
I was NEVER a breakfast eater and learned what "they" say is true. Breakfast can really set you up for a good day.
I still can't eat when I first get up (I need a couple of hours), but make sure I eat something every morning. I used to skip breakfast, eat junk for lunch and then eat everything in the house when I got home, then picked all evening long. Breakfast really cured me of that awful pattern. I went from slug to health freak and feel like I'm half my age.

Welcome Cris. I am a breakfast eater but not eggs. So I found other options. Like non-traditional stuff (leftovers, sliced turkey, breakfast cheesecakes, zucchini cakes.) Right now I eat crock pot "refried beans" every day.

Hi Cris,
I am new too, I started the SBD last week and have just been stalking the forums for recipes and inspiration, but I just finished week 1 of Phase 1 and so far doing good and not really missing the carbs.
Breakfast is my problem too, I HATE EGGS!!! I hate the texture, the flavor, everything. So that is the only hard thing for me, because even the desserts are made with eggs and ricotta and to me it tastes like flavored eggs! So I am definitely open to ideas. If you dont mind the texture of eggs, I just made the mock waffles for my fiance yesterday morning and he was in love. Granted this was after a week off omelettes and eggs so Im sure he appreciated ANYTHING that was different lol.
But good luck and congrats!

Thanks everyone! Im actually pretty excited about this.
Its funny i never thought of eating non-breakfast foods for breakfast. Pretty sure there no ban restricting real food until noon. Haha. Those zucchini cakes sound really good, i'll be trying those.
Had a couple food related boo-boos yesterday so phase 1 might be getting extended while i get the hang of it.
