As long as your are keeping your calories below 3500, and as long as the edamame isn't salted, I think eating a reasonable portion of them won't slow your weightloss. But if they're salted, the salt will cause you to bloat and retain water.
Keep in mind that even if something is good for you, you still should practice portion control.
