Default Freaking out about nearing goal...

The last two lbs I lost made a bigger difference than I anticipated and *today* I'm feeling like 145-150 might be the range and I'm totally freaking out. Tomorrow I might decide that it's back to 140-145, but still...this 4 1/2 year journey is almost over...now what???? I'm kidding of course. I have a plan for maintenance...I'm essentially living it already, and I'm making some new fitness goals to keep me busy and I'm constantly looking for new fun and healthy recipies to keep me nourished and excited about my food plan, but what is it going to be like to no longer focus on losing??? This thought is actually causing me anxiety...sort of, I'm exaggerating a little bit. I'm trying to keep the anticipation under control because from a recent maintainers post I know that reaching goal may be somewhat anticlimatic, but I can't help but wonder when I hit the 140s if confetti isn't going to magically burst out of my bathroom scale. Oh who knew there was so much emotional issues to conquer even at this point...

I'm nowhere near where you are, but wanted to say first congratulations on being so near your goal (or possibly at your goal!!). What do you mean by saying the 2 lbs made such a big difference? I was reading that thread over at maintainers as well, about getting to your goal being anticlimactic. I'm thinking I'll do something very special for myself, I have no idea what, but something to mark the occasion! I'm sure heading into maintenance is a little scary, but you'll figure it out just like you have this weight loss thing whipped. Good for you, you are an inspiration!!

You know I don't really know...it just seems like before it would take 10 lbs to lose a pant size and to actually see some reduction in my belly, but from 152 to 150 my tummy just seems to have started to shrink and I've gone to a snug 10 to a comfortable/loose 10 and even an 8 in some designers (I bought my first pair of size 8 pants in over 10 years last weekend and an 8 is the smallest I've ever been!). So before I was thinking it would absolutly take all the way to 143 or even 140 to feel satisfied with my body, but now I'm thinking that if the next 2 lbs are anything like the last I'll be happy at 145-150, especially with the extra running and strength training I've been doing. If this is the kind of results I'm going to get with that then I don't think I'll need to go into the low 140s...

Congrats! I had a chuckle about the confetti shooting out of the scale. That would be a great ending wouldn't it LOL
