Smile So I just purchased size 18 jeans.

The day I finally fit into them will be a wonderful day. And to think when I wore size 18 back in high school I thought I was pretty much the fattest person on the planet. Oh well, can't change what's already been done. Onward bound!

Hang them on the outside of your closet door and reach for that goal, you can do it

Seriously, it will go by so fast and you will be looking for size 16 jeans. Once you fit into them, get rid of all your bigger jeans. I get such a rush out of bagging up my bigger clothes and dropping them off at Goodwill it's like a cleansing of sorts, like I am getting rid of the weight a second time.

Way to go!!

Like another pp said, as soon as your clothes get too big bag them up and donate. I did that last weekend with a bunch of stuff and while it is a little scary to get rid of the "safe clothes" it is such a awesome feeling. I kept one pair of pants and one shirt just to remind me of how far I have come.

I found having a pair of goal jeans to be tremendous motivation. Mine were a pair that I had bought and wore briefly, but grew out of them. I really wanted to wear them again, and I hung them in a conspicuous spot and tried them on monthly. I think I may have cried when I finally got to the point where I could wear them.

I'm excited for you to be able to wear your jeans!

Oh yes! I remember my "fat" size from high school. If I only knew then! But you have to move past that. Fitting into those size 18's will be sweet victory for you now and I hope you celebrate it!! How many of us in this world get to say, "Wow, look, I fit into the same size I wore in high school?" It doesn't matter what that size was. It's an accomplishment!! And heck, from there, it only gets sweeter. For me, life started to feel normal again around size 16. I'd imagine with the height you have on me that may just be true for you in a size 18. And by "normal" I mean everything just got easier from lacing up my shoes to getting off the couch, to standing at the sink doing dishes.

Goal outfits and jeans in particular have been giving me such a great rush!
I know how happy I was to fit into jeans I got when I was thirteen - that's more an indication of how heavy I was then than how thin I am now, though I have lost a lot of weight and I've been tracking it all by what pairs of jeans I can wear. I'm not down to an 18 yet, but once I can buy jeans from a normal shop I wil know I've done really well. I tried on a size 16 dress today in the same shop I dieted to get in to a 22 last year, and it fit beautifully! I think it's maybe even better than a successful week on the scales because it's something definitely visible . Good luck for getting in to them!

Isn't it funny how it is all about perspective? I think about this a lot... but ya know what? I feel so much better about myself now than I did then and I am happy about that.

It won't be long, that is great incentive. I definitely remember when I was in a 14 about 10 yrs ago and I though I was big and my family thought I was fat, to be a size 14 now would be heavenly! I am looking toward my size 16 pants and can't wait until they zip. Congrats!

first, congrats! and secondly, I hear you! I got to a size 16 in high school about 20 years ago, which was pre some of this clothing size inflation, since I was some 40 lbs slimmer than now (I'm 18 bottom, 16 top), and I felt HUGE. I'd love to be back at that weight now. Ah well! like you say, onward bound.
