Default I thought for the longest time...

That the 100 lb. club was for those who started out in onederland!!! I'm soo happy to find out otherwise. I have about 120 more pounds to lose. It seems soooo daunting, and scary. I have allll these fears and questions!! I once was lost and now I'm found.

When I first joined I was super confused about that as well, especially when the 300+ club was referring to the actual WEIGHT, not the amount to lose. I was like "where's MY club, for the 200-300 pound people?!".

I figured it out eventually, though

welcome welcome welcome!! I started out just about where you are now, weight wise. This can be done. You take one pound at at time, and not think about the 120. This of it as pounds lost, not what is left.

I thought the same thing! I'm glad I get click-happy and figured it out a few days ago.

I started losing weight last month at 15 pounds above your starting weight (which I'm at now), so I'm completely with you on how long and scary the journey looks. But, you're already doing an awesome job by starting AND losing 17 pounds (high fives!). I think it comes down to what I just read in Beverly's signature about losing five pounds twenty times - concentrating on each mini-goal, and being proud of our progress as we go, instead of how daunting and far the end might look from the beginning.

Welcome! I am about the same height as you and I started even higher than you....

Luckily they don't kick us out when we lose more than 100lbs-- stick around and you'll find out that a lot of people do.

I think many people that need to lose over 100 lbs have different *issues* than those needing to lose say 30 or 50 lbs. You will meet people here therefore that have experienced many of the same things that you most likely have. And that is a wonderful thing.

I'm glad you're here as it's a great place to be. SO much wisdom.

could not have said it better. I know for me, the best thing I get from this group is the understanding. When i'm having the days that I feel deflated and self defeating . . . . some one here has or is feeling the same way. It's comforting that I''m not alone in that, if that makes sense.
