Who would have thought a Monday could be a good day?? but yeah I jumped on the scale and sure enough down my very 1st lb in 6 days since the start of my healthier eating change. Today will be a test in the no soda department as we are going to a movie, I will bring my water and healthy snack but I am sure my child will have a soda, so I have to keep my lips away from her straw..lol
I made it through the past two days which were rough as I was really in a bad mood and was ready to give up but I didn't and stayed under the 1400 calorie marker. I really enjoy this forum and look forward to the next week. Thanks
The first weeks are the toughest as you have to establish these new healthy habits, as you have to get used to telling yourself no and being prepared and lots more. Get through them any way that you can. Recognize that there IS an initial, temporary discomfort stage as you try and break *bad* habits.
As far as the movie goes, how about bring your daughter something along to drink as well? She doesn't need soda either! There is zero value in it. It's never too early for her to learn good habits.
I look forward to hearing of your continued progress.
I plan on bringing two bottles of water but alas she is 17 and has her own job and money, so if she chooses to have a soda I can't stop her. As she is very tiny and petite (weighs 96 lbs) I don't argue with her...
I am just tickled I got through the past two days.. whohooo

Congratulations, Losing It! I know you were feeling frustrated over the weekend -- doesn't that pound make it worth it?!?!
I've found that it does get easier as I go on, partially because the new foods I've incorporated in my diet are becoming more "go to" and habitual. I used to ask myself, "Should I have a PBJ or a bagel for lunch?" and now it's, "Should I have a turkey wrap with tons of veggies or a salad with tuna?" For snacks, I reach for greek yogurt or cottage cheese without thinking of the carby-crunchies in the pantry.
Good for you for bringing healthy stuff to the theater!
Thank you all for your support. I never thought a simple 1lb would cheer me up, I did eat something for a snack today while I don't think it's detrimental to my calorie intake today or fat grams, it is made of high fructose corn syrup which IMHO is the bad of all bads in the sugar department. O-well moving on, heading out to watch Eclipse so everyone can start talking around me again..LOL
I am so surprised that Tuesday has been a good day also, I am down .2 from yesterday in lieu of going to dinner last night (had french onion soup and 2 small rolls) I was treating a friend to dinner as she helped me with something, she suggested I had suggested the local Chinese buffet (because they make sushi also).
So the weirdest thing that is going on is that my dreams have become really intense (not scary or horror filled, just weird) not sure if it is because I have changed my eating habits or what
