Default Feeling Weak....any thoughts?

I have been on the Ideal Protein diet for 6 days now and have been feeling weak the whole time. I have lost 8 lbs. so far which is great, so I don't want to ruin it! I am taking a multivitamin, potassium and calcium. Is this from lack of carbs or what? Anyone have any thoughts or ideas for me?
THANKS!

Aloha! I must say, I felt weak too. Been on only a week and a half. I had to make the brocolli soup to drink just to keep going. I have 3 small kids and need energy, so it was tough. I did need to mix up vitamins through out the day. I was taking too many with breakfast , so i had to take some with lunch so I didn't feel icky. I am dying to get food dehydrated to make veggie chips when i get REALLY hungry. Are you one that is burning alot of energy during your day? I think for me, I am always running & on my feet. We need alittle extra veggies then I think...??I love herbal teas too.I also make fake sprite with lemon & lime juice with truvia in a large bottle of club soda. It is awesome and fills ya up! Aloha

I felt pretty weak for the first week too. I think it is just yet another way that our body is adjusting to the change in diet and lifestyle. It will pass and you'll soon have energy to spare! Hang in there!

I'm in my first week and have been feeling weak also. Herbal tea has seemed to help somewhat for me.

I went thru this as well. When it was really bad I would have a half of a bar and drink lots of water. It seemed to help. Good luck!

They say it all changes for the better on Day 4 and Day 10 - I never experienced that. I just kept remembering how fast the scale was moving down and focused on the fact that it was short term pain for long term "gain".

If you are feeling light headed (like I was), you should increase your salt intake.

remember that in the first few days(or weeks for some) your body is detoxing from all the garbage stored in our bodies. it will make you, sick, weak, dizzy, shaky-just like you were coming off of cigarettes, alcohol or drugs.

be strong and stick with it, it gets MUCH MUCH MUCH better

Hi, I'm on day 10 of the IP Diet and I am having weakness problems too. I am not hungry, just tend to feel weak & my legs feel wobbly around 4:30-5:30pm. My coach said to drink a Mango Drink if/when that happens, so I bought some extra, but I am having to do that almost every day. I am wondering if I am doing something else wrong. I am not a big salt user and so I keep forgetting to use the sea salt -- could that be it?

YES it could be the salt. i am not in the habit of salting my food and was EXTREMELY fatigued the first two weeks. My coach asked about the salt and I started putting 1/2 teaspoon into a bowl in the morning and grabbing a pinch every time I cooked served myself. Been doing that 3 days and I feel MUCH better.

You could consider bouillon as well. Just look for one with 0/0/0.
You need the salt with all that water.

Thanks so much! I do like chicken broth, so that sounds doable!

I'm a newbie -- what is 0/0/0?

0/0/0 is no more! I used to be the guidelines for adding 'extras'. 0 calories/0 carbs/0 fats per serving meant it was allowed. However, IP has taken it away! The only 'acceptable' extras now seem to be the WF products, used in sparingly or in moderation depending on who you talk to.
