Unhappy Weird lower back pain

Hi All: Yesterday I developed a strange lower back pain. It feels a little like I pulled something, as it's hard to bend over forwards or backwards. It feels a little like something female, although I just finished my cycle last week. And it could be digestive. Monday and yesterday I was pretty ill and couldn't keep anything down. Today I don't have a huge appetite but the nausea is gone. I took it easy so far today, sitting or lying with pillows under my knees while working on a laptop. There's tenderness on either side of the lower back, just between spine and my sides. It feels better now than this morning, at least I'm not walking bent over. Has anyone else had this strange pain? I'm not someone who usually has any aches, and I couldn't be pregnant. I'm wondering if it's an early sign of menopause or if I should get the heck to the doctor. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you are not well Are you urinating properly and have you had any fever? kidney infection always comes to mind when someone mentions lower back pain along with illness. Keep that in mind if you develop a fever or painful urination. Get better soon

Well, no one here can really advise you, medically speaking.

Did you do a new or unusual exercise?

Menopause is nothing like that, so I'd set that idea aside.

It could be related to your kidneys. Have you noticed that your urine is a darker color than normal, or cloudy? A urinary tract infection or kidney infection could cause that kind of pain. Possibly, a kidney stone that's trying to pass--that can be really painful, and also make you feel nauseated.

See your doctor or go to a walk-in clinic and get checked out.

Hope you feel better!

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I am certain it's not kidneys, as both of mine are on one side of me (for real) and everything's normal there. Maybe it's just the shock of exercise combined with a lot of broccoli. I did over-imbibe on Sunday, so maybe that was the domino that started it. Think I'll wait one more day for doc. I'm glad to know it's not typical of menopause.
