Default Ahh...lost more weight on pre cond. than plan...

So I lost 4.5lbs on preconditioning (Sat-Fri) and now that I'm on plan-I've only lost .5lbs (Sat-Tues). I'm getting worried...I want to succeed SO badly. Any advice?

Hi Bethyk1980,

That's completely expected. A lot of the weight you lose on preconditioning is water weight so it comes off really quickly. At this phase of the game, do your best to stick to plan and learn how you're going to get through 24 weeks of it and don't worry too much about the weight. It *will* come off. And not evenly... some weeks are big and some weeks are small and they all average out. Your body is going through the shock of a new program and it takes a bit of getting used to.

Good luck and welcome!

Thank you so much! My mom keeps saying "just trust the system-it works" (she's lost quite a bit with MRC) I'm just one of those people that needs results NOW!

You had great results! You will continue to have them as well. I know I gained a pound early in the 2nd week, and weighed at the end of the week and I lost 4 pounds. So dont expect to see the scale move everyday. In fact I had to hide mine. The MRC plan works! Keep up the great work!

I'm the same way! I keep trying to analyze whats working and what's not and why i lose some weeks and not others. My BF is right though, the sample size we're looking at is WAY too small to really find patterns. Just keep on following the plan and it will all come off. I've wasted so much energy fighting with it and trying to outsmart it and figure out what parts work better than others I finally gave in and just keep drinking glass after glass of water.

I get obsessed with the number on the scale. I've started only weighing in once a week. It really helps me to see it all at once. I would get upset if I had a small loss or a gain even if the last time I went in I lost 2lbs. That's just me.

Your body is in shock the first few days. Once your system gets used to the program, the weight comes off.. Sometimes we get stuck at a plateau for no reason. Just stick with it..

Good Luck!!

I would just suggest you don't be weighing yourself frequently. Just follow the plan and do your official weigh-ins at the Center, as all the fluxes on a minute by minutes, or day to day basis, can be misleading and upsetting. Yes, just trust the plan and do what it says and don't get into an obsessive mode about the journey. In fact, ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

Bethyk, I had similar results as you. I lost 4 pounds in pre-conditioning and then 1.2 at my weigh in yesterday. I too was upset about the 1.2, but have since come to peace with it! Ha!

I go to weigh in again today (we have to weigh twice a week at my center) so I am hoping a little bit more will have come off. Good luck to you on your journey.

You are doing great..........trust the program, and hide that scale! My husband and I purposely did not buy a scale when we started this program. It leads to obsessive weighing and will drive you bonkers. They even told us at the center to only weigh yourself at the center. Congrats on starting this journey to a healthier you!

I agree that drinking 100 oz of water is key. Also taking a few protein drinks daily. Your body just has to adjust to the plan - it will work - promise. I have lost over 50 lbs since November and some weeks I lose nada and then the next week would be a big reward of 3-5 lbs. Good luck!

I had a similar experience. I lost 2 lbs on preconditioning, then actually GAINED .5 lbs when I weighed in on day 2 of starting the first official menu w/the HNS. But I was a really bad water drinker going into this, and have been consistently drinking about 80 oz of water/day. My girl at the center thought that my body was just globbing onto the water it's been missing and was just retaining it - so she recommended that I take B6 to help w/water retention. I hit my Vitamin Shoppe, and my gal there hooked me up with a B6/B12/Folic Acid water soluble vitamin that seems to be working great - now I'm down 5 lbs. The B6 combo totally helped me w/the extra water - really helps flush it all out. Might work for you too.
