Default Frozen treats to beat heat? What do you like?

Ok, lately with this heat I'm having one serving of ice cream/sorbet type stuff every night I do my workout.

And I recently found that this one is 100 cal for 1/2 cup at my grocery.

Rich choc taste... maybe even almost TOO rich.

But def one I'd revisit.

Anyone else with frozen summer treats to help combat heat?

I feel like a lot of great ice creams are around 100 cals for a 1/2 cup. It's the 1/2 cup I have trouble with But "too rich" would definitely satisy me.

Frozen bananas apparently make a good dessert that's like ice cream, and I love frozen grapes after a workout.

I keep meaning to try to make my own sorbet with sugar free juice! Anyone try it?

I make strawberry sorbet with frozen strawberries. I just put frozen unsweetened strawberries (still frozen) into the food processor or blender. I add a bit of diet lemon lime soda or lemonade (or even water) and pulse until the berries make a sorbet texture. If the sorbet isn't sweet enough, I'll add a little splenda.

If I want a virgin frozen daquiri, I'll use a blender and add diet Mountain Dew and a splash of lime juice (the recipe I adapted from also called for a package of sugar free strawberry jello - but I find that unnecessary - and if you use any brand of sf gelatin, it tends to clump).

I love homemade snow cones or hawaiian ices. I bought an ice shaver (I had a hand crank model, but then I bought the electric one). Instead of buying the ready made snow-cone syrups (because there's only like three sugar free flavors), I make my own. In a 16 ounce squeeze bottle, I mix sugar free drink mix (the amount to make 2 quarts - which used to be one tub of Crystal Light, but is now two 1 qt packets), and I add water (or I'll use 1 cup Splenda, 1 packet of unsweetened Kool Aid and enough water to fill the bottle - you need a funnel to pour the powders into the bottle). I usually make two flavors, and store them in the fridge.

Ive been making my own frapachino type thing. I use almond milk vanilla or chocolate, frozen banana, and some instant coffee and blend. It comes out super good!

Frozen grapes are a nice treat on a hot summer day.

Oh, you reminded me. I used to keep "canned in juice" pears or peaches in the freezer. Run in water enough to loosen and open up and dump into a ziploc. Smack it to break it up a bit and then blender into "sorbet."

I don't know if they're available in the U.S., but Skinny Cow's are soooo good. In the ice cream section at pretty much any grocery store here. They come in fudgicles, creamsicles, sundaes, and ice cream bars. (either 50 or 90 cal servings) mmmmmm.

Popsicles (just the plain "fruit" kind) are so yummy and only about 50 calories (1 WW point).
Other than that I love frozen yogourt as long as i can manage to stick to an actual 1/2 cup serving ;-)

I love Skinny Cow- especially their ice cream sandwiches.

They've come out with new products recently too that could help me beat the Ben and Jerry's cravings.

That frozen yogurt sounds so good- I'll have to try it out! I always actually preferred frozen yogurt to ice cream. As a kid, I'd have weekly trips to TCBY during the summer. Yummm...

but favorite of late has been watermelon cut into cubes - then squeeze a the juice of a lime overtop. if the watermelon isn't a really ripe and juice one, i add a little dash of splenda to sweeten it up a tad.

DH loves to go to Dairy Queen weekly in the summer. Luckily he has no weight or health issues. I found out online that DQ has a No Sugar Added Fudge bar that is 50 calories. I think it tastes good.

"diet" ice creams just don't do it for me and I've never been a fan of plain popsicles or those fruit bars but I can buy regular fudgesicles and most brands are 80-100 calories with only 1 or 2 grams of fat. They're so fudgy and yummy! They also make sugar free ones which I have not tried yet.

Those cheapo kid Popsicles that you can break in half. Are about 50 calories each and hit the spot for me. I need to get some! I really love the rocket ones, with the white, red and blue - but they are way more expensive.
