I've been in a rut as well. I'm going to turn it on now and get back into the groove of it. Hopefully I keep up with it this time.

Tomorrow (or today since it's 1am) will be Level 1 Day 6. I'm definitely feeling my stamina improve. I bought new hand weights though. I started out only having 5lb weights but I got 3lb weights and I'm able to actually use the weights the entire time through the strength training exercises.

Doing exercise, especially this one, when you feel down is just crap. But it really does cheer you up when you work out. I always find when I'm a bit down if I miss an exercise session, not only do I still feel depressed, but I feel bad and guilty for not doing it! Then it becomes a vicious cycle. The human mind is very strange sometimes!
So, Niecey has finished her 30DS challenge! Are you going to stop there, or are you going to start again? I might do mine again when I'm done, but compliment it with other exercises.
It's day 19 for me today... Be on level 3 soon!!

Belease - I'll be starting up again but I'll be doing the 30-Day Slimdown Challenge. It's still all Jillian but I'll be adding her other dvd's, No More Trouble Zones (NMTZ) and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism (BFBM) and Quick Trouble Zones, which is part of NMTZ w/no floorwork.
I will definitely post results some time this weekend from doing the 30-Day Shred last month.
This challenge, I will watch what I eat and to stay within my calorie range which is 1500/day. I want to see how much I could really lose if I stay on course for the whole month.
So tonight is Level 1 Day 1 of the Shred.

30 Day Shred - Level 1 completed.
As I'm starting this challenge again, I feel much stronger, especially in the girl pushups. I even started with at least 4 guy pushups before I did the others so it is working!

I can do ten guy pushups now, but only halfway down. I'm trying to figure out what happened because last summer I could do real pushups, at least five or so, without practicing and I weighed thirty pounds more!
I'm getting bored with Level 1 so on Thursday I'm starting Level 2.

I'm having a harder time with the DVD now than I did when I first started a month or two ago. I can't wait for the day when I can do an actual pushup without my arms trembling

I completed my own version of JM day 1 because the evils at Comcast decided to remove the video from their on-demand selection. I know the entire thing by memory and turned on a digital clock on my laptop screen and kept track of the times. I also increased from 3lb weights to 5lb weights, and wow, SO much harder! I am very glad that I never attempted 5lb weights when I first tried this workout a little over a month ago.
To the person dropping down to 3lbs... DO IT! In a few weeks, try the 5lb weights. If I had had both size weights when I started, I would use the 5lb weights for the exercise where you hold your arms in front of you and with your knees bent, you bring your arms back into you, pinching your shoulder blades together and working your back because your back muscles are big muscles and they should be able to handle the 5lb weights. The other exercises that work smaller muscles can get a workout with the 3lb weights.
Great job everyone!

I just bought the 30 Day Shred DVD... I watched it through once without participating, I wanted to know what it was all about. It looked do-able! I have already worked out today so I will do this video tomorrow before work. Any suggestions / warnings? I read somewhere to really eat smart post-workout-- what do you guys eat after your workout (protein/complex carb combo, I'm assuming)? Thanks!

I love the feeling in my abs going from the level one first abs circuit through to the second circuit strength with the squats with the lifts after the tricep kickbacks. Okay, that sounds way more complicated than I meant it too, I need sleep. But do you know the part I mean? And does anyone else feel that deep burn? I felt it more intensely in the first few days--only have a few days left of level one but that feeling rocks!!

Veil - Best advice I can give you is to hang in there and take it one day at a time. Use the Anita moves if you can't keep up with Natalie. Believe me, it's still a good workout. I also did not do the challenge 30 days straight. I did 6 days a week with one day off.
I normally have a apple before I drive home from work so that when I get ready to do the workout I won't be famished. Nothing worse than working out while your tummy is rumbling. After my workout it's pretty much time for dinner.
Good Luck!
KimmyKitty - to the Challenge. If you ordered all three that means you'll be doing the 30 Day SlimDown one day! Much harder than 30 Day Shred. Not trying to scare you, but it is.
rainydays - I don't recall any tricep kickbacks but I do recall the static lunge w/ bicep curl. But at any rate, when I did Level 1 last night, I feel much stronger and wasn't as winded this time around.
MrsDeenz - You'll do push-ups in Level 1 and 2 and planks in Level 2 and 3 which should help you get stronger, so eventually you should be able to do them in no time without trembling. (And if you do 30-Shred a second time around, you'll really see a difference.)
